We've had the best team and the worst team, what about the most average team?

Someone who was ok, did the job but that's it, very forgettable player but when mentioned you think 'Yeah he was alright.'

Good shout. Maxi Rodriguez as well. Perhaps Albert Riera.

Maxi yes, Riera was like what 2 months of decent? Riera falls in the kromkamp, Josemi, Voronin group for me.

Sinama Pongolle, flashes of what he could, flashes of useless ness but was just about average.

MILAN BAROS! Christ on a bike how frustrating was he!

I'm half Czech so you be careful what you say about Milan Baros <laugh>

Really though he was half decent, but he needed to be the main striker and Benitez wasn't ready to give him that. He was brilliant on his day and then completely useless the next.

aka average! <laugh>

Sorry man, good to see you on... sta ima? Ako/kako/jak sa žije?

Every time he went to play for the Czech, he would kill it, then come back and have a hat-trick, no goals, no goals, goal, no goals, no goals, USELESS, hatrick. It was crazy.

I thought about saying Kuyt, thought about it, but he came up huge for us on so many occasions that I can't do it.

Nista! I don't speak Czech unfortunately. It was too difficult to pick up. Plus my grandparents learned other languages to talk to me so I never got the chance to. Still felt proud when Baros won the Golden Boot. I remember saying he would finally become consistent after that but alas no.

He still played a part and has a CL medal though!

Kuyt I wanted to say but he was like you said immense for us too many times. He's perhaps the most revered average player to have played for us.

I'd put forth Charlie Adam into the discussion though.

Man when I was in VT with the old Yugoslavs ( mixture of everyone up there) it was tough man, the dialects were crazy and the completely different alphabet, it was tough!

I can't spell it correctly but Suarez can lay-za me buu-you! Kuracs!

A few (reasonably recent) suggestions that register at various points on the average spectrum:

Nicolas Anelka
Ryan Babel
Nicky Barmby
Patrick Berger
Djibril Cisse
Nigel Clough
Salif Diao
Andrea Dossena
Harry Kewell
Chris Kirkland
Jason McAteer
Fernando Morientes
David Ngog
Andrey Voronin
Abel Xavier
Christian Ziege

Yeah its not so hard for us to understand each other but for foreigners it can be one jumbly mess. Plus our propensity to start civil wars and you get the point <laugh>

That's the one! Jebem ti secu..... or should it be his mother? <yikes>

Nice list by DD ( who I still don't know who the **** it is).

I think you could probably put Big bad Stewie Downing right in that list.
