@JMcC_23 Delighted to announce a signed for Wigan! Excited and looking forward for the new challenge ahead! @JMcC_23 Alot if great people at Sunderland football club, esp the players a great bunch that al miss had a great time despite a few lows
I'm sure he'll do well at Wigan. Fans won't be on his back as much The expectations got the better of him in his second season imo
He'll be quality in the Championship & I wish him well, remembering the work he did season before last. Delighted he's gone though, he was short of the level we are looking for.
good luck jimmy. does this mean the mavrias deal will be resurrected i wonder, got the feeling we were stalling due to other players not leaving.
When O'neill gave him his chance he was seen as going places. Then a lot was expected of him and he wasn't up to the job. A job more senior players seemed to also expect MCclean to do. A victim of his own early success and expectations put up on him. I thought he would so well this season coming on as an impact sub. A frustrating player but I wish him the best.
Even before this I thought we missed a trick with the Mavrias deal.... now getting rid of Jimmy Mc makes the decision not to secure Mavrias even more bizarre to me... Would have been a basically risk-free investment
Its all right McClean twittering he has signed, where is the official confirmation, nothing on SAFC site, if it is true wish the lad well he turned out to be a one trick pony.
He'll do well in the Championship but unfortunately was found wanting once EPL defenders had sussed his one trick, good luck to the lad though. I hope we put the money to good use.
We'd probably be trying to offload McClean all transfer window but nothing was coming of it. Now he's gone I wouldn't be surprised to see the Mavrias deal to be resurrected
