There's some season previews cropping up around the place. Here's a rather ill-informed one from a Toon site - http://www.cominghomenewcastle.com/...preview-2013-14-rickie-lambert-victor-wanyama
The "They'll likely need to score at least 50 to keep up with their defending, to be honest" is a bit rich considering the amount of goals they conceded.
The first part of that sentence is a bit inaccurate to say the least! We seemed to always do badly against the teams below us in the table, with one or two exceptions.
That's true, isn't it? My understand was Gaston cost £11.8m but Wanyama is an initial £10m rising to £12m.
Ah okay, it's debatable I guess. Perhaps we could make this thread the "Season Previews" thread to link all the various ones we find?
Thought it was a rather lazy piece of journalism, with no real depth. Thought the pole on where we might finish up was interesting?
This one is a little bit better (though the Seidi comment is slightly leftfield!) - http://www.footballandfutbol.com/blog/2013/07/31/southampton-2013-14-season-preview/
Mods, can we change the title of this just to Season Previews - we can collect them all on this thread?
Anyone notice the caption in the top right of the picture of Adam?? "The Saints celebrate another Johnstone's Paint Trophy win"... oh dear - this picture wasn't taken during the JPT, it was at Reading last season in the league!!
Is everyone supposed to have an official they fear? Anyway, the Graun are slowly doing there's, it's alphabetical though, and only up to Everton so far... http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog football/premier-league-2013-14-previews
Saints season preview by Matt Le Tissier in twentyfour7 football magazine. please log in to view this image Got to say, it's a pretty good read. Great coverage outside of the Premier League too, which is often ignored.
Stan Collymore has us down as 11th. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/stan-collymores-club-by-club-season-preview-2151489?
