You're joking surely? After his starring role in Euro 2012, I'd be surprised if there is a club in Europe who doesn't know about him.

I hear Rafa Benitez is an avid player. Buys Torres on every save, even on his Bath City one, he stripped the club of everything in order to afford his wages for a 3 month loan.

I want Rene Meulensteen. That dude is always insanely awesome in Football Manager. Bring him in as a scout, youth team coach, assistant manager, first team coach, anything. 17 or better across the board. :D

Well as you know that's more subjective. Some managers have differing opinions on players same as we are having a disagreement. For example Ramirez wouldn't make my 11 on what I've seen. He is probably in the 11 in terms of ability and also would get into the first 11 of Everton, possibly also Liverpool and Arsenal?

I think Schneiderlin is a given that he could get into several of those teams first 11. Wanyama probably. Shaw definitely. Clyne would be an outside bet but unlikely. And desperately clutching at straws I think if Lambert was a few years younger last year and still scored the goals he would have a chance.

Maybe rosie tinted but I still think we need a striker. I like Rodriguez but he does hit it at the keeper a lot and I prefer Lambert in a more fluid role than the out and out Grant Holt style. I also think we need a right winger because Puncheon whilst doing better than I thought he would isn't as good as I would like.

And I would like another CB because of Maya, Jos and Jose I think Jos (since Poch came) has looked the better and that tells a story onf it's own.

Still think we'll do well though, have predicted 13 points from the first 6 so we'll have to wait and see how rosy my glasses are :)

I heard that he used the editor to add in a "show chairmen list of facts" button when his requests to the board were denied.

Its not really surprising, tbh. I think he is showing a lot of sense, loads of South Americans move to Europe too early and maybe don't reach their full potential. He probably wants to have another year in Brazil (if no big European club comes in for him before the end of this window or Jan), hopefully make the World Cup squad and then get a big move after that.

The provocative writer refers to us as minnows, whilst declaring Tottenham as Giants.
In the land of the giants, Spurs are the little one the other giants pick on.

The agent is quoted as saying he is waiting for a club with more ambition. Good luck with that ****.

So Saints have so little ambition they go for his client. He should have just said that Dimiao considered SFC the wrong club for him at the moment...kept his options open.

Not everyone can know how magnificent we are, I know, but a little love and affection for us would go down well.;) I don't think Nicola is as sensitive as we all think (or are)...he will just have left the offer on the table, whilst he carries on looking elsewhere (hopefully). The best form of revenge is success.

Perhaps players look at our final position in the table. 14th was ok considering but a top overseas talent might not think so. If we finish 7/8 next season perhaps people will believe the ambition.

I do actually understand the players concerned...if they are confident that they will get an offer from a bigger team (higher up the table and one they've actually heard of) they will want to wait. They may be proved right, but they may also find that they have missed the boat.

Southampton have joined Everton as the frontrunners to land the signature of Iceland striker Alfred Finnbogason.
The 24-year-old, who plays under Marco van Basten at cash-strapped Dutch side Heerenveen, has caught the attention of a number of Premier League clubs who were impressed with his return of 24 goals in 31 games last season.
A source at Southampton told SportsDirect News the club have been trailing Finnbogason for some time.
"We made inquiries last season but it went cold," said the source. "Now that Heerenveen have financial problems and have said they are prepared to sell, things are very different."
Heerenveen said any club interested in Finnbogason will have to meet a substantial asking price, thought to be in the region of £5 million.
Gaston Sporre, director at the Eredivisie side and Finnbogason's agent were unavailable for comment

Not that impressed by this, doesn't seem much of an improvement over Sharp in that he's a good goal poacher but doesn't contribute much else. Not to mention I'd be very wary about buying a striker from Holland.
