Jamie Rednapp reckons the Swans are on for a top 4 place see link http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/18932/8857360/ Cheers Mabon
And Jamie Rednapp reckons Norwich are going down?? Sorry but saying Norwich are going down instead of Kairdiff is not logical, after all Norwich have strengthened well this season, and I do not see them going down at all, though I do like what he has said, about the Swans!...............
For those that do fancy us to do a LOT better than last year, fancy a flutter? You can get 15/1 on Swansea winning the Prem handicap league with a 36, yes 36 point start!! For those fancying 54 points finish and over...that would have beaten Man U last year. You never see a poor Bookie though. Do they see something we don't?
Can't see that happening to be honest but if you said before this time last year we have a chance of being in Europe next season I'd have said yeah right. Looking at how teams like Spurs etc. struggle to stay in the top 4 I can't see how we would possibly manage it. That would really cap a fairytale rise would it!
I'm glad the first few replies were 'hang on lads, lets not get carried away'. For now, every year we're nowhere near the bottom and pocket £60m in TV money pushing us miles ahead of 72 other clubs in the land is a success in my book. Once you've put a string of 5-10 financial successes like that, then you can start to look at pushing forward towards the top 6 and top 4. If we could finish 9th for the next 5 years, i'd be delighted.
I would go along with this too, but please throw in the odd cup win too. The FA cup sounds quite good
That would be great Boys bach to have us finish in top 6 would be bloody Magic.but we wont get carried away will we lads lets get the Man utd game over 1st 1 nill to the swans ,And see were we are by xmas then we should know if we are good enough, I would be happy to finish 8th
That's with all other teams getting their handicap. e.g Palace getting 50 points. Even Manure get 2 points this season.
You know what's funny, my wife (who admits she's no expert) says the the natural progression would go something like... 1st season - 11th 2nd season - 9th 3rd season - 6th I have explained to her that the "top six" is usually comprised of a fairly elite group that doesn't change much from season to season and that finishing anywhere without being mentioned in any relegation talk at any point of the season is an achievement in itself. Then Redknapp said.... I'm cooking dinner tonight for my condescending tone.
We finished 11th in the first season.
Nice compliment from Jamie but it's gratifying to see that most posters are being realistic. Yes, with the squad we have it is POSSIBLE but we all seem to accept, not likely. The Europa games will take their toll and we will lose games that otherwise we might have won. With that in mind, I'll settle for any place in the top 10: above that will be a bonus but I'll settle just for PL survival all day long. Mind you, I've got a sneaking feeling........
And Jamie's dad reckons his mother in law can score in the PL I will be delighted with a top 10 and over the moon with 8th or better
