Team news for Tuesday's Capital One Cup clash between Gillingham and Bristol City at the Priestfield Stadium.

Matt Fish will discover the extent of his knee injury ahead of the Gills' League Cup first-round tie at home.

The right-back was due to undergo a scan on Monday having been forced off just five minutes into Saturday's season-opening 1-0 defeat to Colchester.

Charlie Allen will also be assessed having missed out altogether due to a freak training ground injury which left him with an infected cut to his foot.

Myles Weston overcame a hamstring problem to feature as a second-half substitute against the U's and will again hope to be involved at Priestfield.

The Robins, meanwhile, will be without Louis Carey when they head south-west the first round.

The experienced defender will miss the tie with a dead leg while the Robins will check on former West Ham striker Sam Baldock who suffered a kick to his Achilles.

Meanwhile head coach Sean O'Driscoll is unsure whether he will include winger Albert Adomah. The former Barnet man, whose future at the club is still up in the air, was left out of the squad that drew 2-2 with Bradford on Saturday and he may be left out again.

O'Driscoll has also confirmed that Stephen Pearson looks likely to require surgery on his ankle injury while Marlon Harewood will play for the Under-21s on Monday and looks set to be on the bench against the newly-promoted Gills

Too fat to run but he'll probably score against us.

Strange game this one. Do we field an experimental team (I would) and not care about the result but learn from different players or do we try and get a result for once ?

We've not won a league game in 10 attempts now and we have only once since 2009 (Brentford 1-0) won a cup game in any comptetition. Not pretty stats are they ?

I think we will go for the win and field a strong side. SOD likes good habits, and winning is one of them. He wants to get some confidence into the team

A strong side is out of the equation. With no Baldock I can see Taylor playing, Already we're out!

Baldock came through a training session at Failand yesterday and has travelled to Kent with the rest of the squad. So is he definitley not playing Shiny ?

That's what was said yesterday. He wouldn't be playing due to taking a kick to the Achilles

    'I can see Taylor playing'

I thought I heard/read that Taylor needs surgery.

That was pearson Redprint. Taylor is fit, Unlike Harewood, Burns and Baldock. Dear god we need another striker so badly!

Think we'll play a strong team, possibly start with Harewood. Like Marlon Pack's hair, the team needs time to gel...

I never like these league cup games, id send out a strong team but rest key players baldock is too injury prone for this league cup game i would also rest cunningham id like jet rested too but we have little forward cover.
Gillingham are a very physical side too i think we would do well to win here at full strength so dont see us in the 2nd round

We need something to bolster the confidence and I would be bitterly disappointed if we went there just to get some game time for players. Our results in cup competitions over the last several years has been atrocious to say the least and this is a chance to change the team's mindset and get the supporters interested again.

A win followed by an attractive home fixture would fit the bill right now so let's go get em boys.

We need the winning habit sooner rather than later so play the best side we can and get a win for a change, would also be nice to make at least the third round of the FA Cup without having the first two ties as byes.

Glad to see Marv back, hope his knee stands up.
Interesting how to see how Pack, Wynter and Marv gel - trouble for me is that bloody Kilkenny playing.
