What option does he have if he wants to play in the WC and no one will buy him, he can either sulk and have zero chance of going or bang in 30 goals or maybe leave in January.

If that was reference my post try reading it again. I don't agree and I'm trying to understand club rationale. But yes I would have him back. He joined a prem club, had a clause inserted because he wanted to remain at prem club for World Cup, played really well for us and I don't categorise him as one of the buffoons that got us relegated. It's the club that have screwed up with how they've let him go!

Expect Harold who doesn't do transfers now come out and say it was out of his hands and he loves both players we have loaned

Both players Remy and Taarabt are top notch

To be honest, Remy should never have joined the Rs in the first place. It can only have been about the money (and possibly being in London) given that Newcastle were unlikely to have been relegated, were full of his countrymen and offered a much better arena and larger support. It would be like an English footballer moving to France and choosing (say) SC Bastia over Lilles. As much as I'd like to have kept him it was pretty inevitable.

I actually think this is a good deal for the club

We get a £2 million pound loan fee, and if he performs well at Newcastle then he's firmly put himself in the shop window and we'll recoup our money

If we get promoted I think he'll come back. London is always more attractive than Newcastle and he'll be welcome home.

Erm - It reads as though Camberley has become a purveyor and source for some extremely potent good stuff!
Loaning out your most marketable asset taking off value on his contract - Lovely jubbly!
We can recoup all our money now and probably more by waiting on the desperados to wade in last minute - You know - Like we do!!
If (and what an If that is with Henry, Barton, O'Niel marshalling the midfield amd the crocks up front with geriatric Hill and Dunne at the back), we get back up Remy and Adel still wont be anywhere near our club as players.
But you could be right in one thing though - If I was a club interested in Mbia, Cesar, Diakite, Granero etc I would definitely be paying a fee and not trying to get them on loan as we have shown we're strong!!!

No club will buy him out right because of the court case in September, why would you take the risk?

A £2million pound loan fee is great for us, repays the majority of the Charlie Austin fee.

gentle reminder - this £2m loan fee stuff that comes from Harold moaning to his press friends about what he felt we should get if we loaned him out. If it makes you feel better to believe stuff that Harold says to the media during the transfer window be my guest, but no one has said, to the best of my knowledge, we are getting £2m from Newcastle. Plus their wage cap is half what Remy earns, so I'm sure we will be subsidising his wages. Perhaps they do give us £2m and we give it straight to Remy.

**** knows. The lack of transparency around these deals is shocking.

We are subsidising the shortfall in his wages and they have a buy clause in the contract which of course they won't activate if he is in clink. How is this a good deal for us you sadly deluded fools.
Nice to know that his World Cup aspirations are more important than getting his wage payers back to the Premiership!

Reckon this is where it stands. The only possible upside is if he avoids clink, has a great season, refuses to join Newcastle because of their wage cap, and we then get to sell him for more than we've paid. All the loan has done is possibly make him cost neutral to us for a year. Having said that I don't think we had many options given the court case.

Given that this is QPR he will be found guilty, banged up, contract cancelled, we end up £8-10m down for 6 goals that didn't make a difference.

But that's the thing - There is no court case even imminent yet - He has to return in September to answer bail - Given the timescales involved in such cases we had time to play with. With the desperation we will see in about 2 or 3 weeks I'm flabbergasted. The player didn't hold all the aces here -
We could have kept hold of him until someone meets the buy out clause or better, we still had 2/3 weeks!!!! What difference would have made to have waited - If it wasn't Newcastle that would take him it would have been someone else - This is a piss poor deal for the club and I'm sorry I know you like him, I just think he's a buffoon, I feel sorry for him, but he's still a buffoon.

And then just to top it off, he's going to be on Twatface later on stating:

"wish you guys could know the incredible amount of work that's going on to get the right people into our club. Sad that we've had to let a few go but you never know if it all goes well we'll meet up again. Can honestly say this has been a fantastic learning curve for all of us and after Saturday we're even more eager and determined to get it right. Some are doubting me but don't let them get us down, together we will make it back"

Blah,Blah,Blah,Blah - TF just got royally fooked by Ashley.

How ironic, Newcastle's first signing whilst being sponsored by Wonga is a loan.

    So much unnecessary vitriol...

Remy was never going to stay with us if relegated - that was made plain when the deal was done
Only the pending trial prevented him being gone weeks ago
Redknapp rolled the dice by saying that he wanted a sale rather than loan but no one bought that because of the trial
So now the club are at least recouping some of the outlay for a player who doesn't want to be with us.

I don't see why any of this is controversial.

This. The potential legal case just complicated events, the outcome was always going to be the same.
