Just thought I'd like to ask this question.

Jonas has been a wonderful servant at the club. Has played literally every single position possible for us(performance aside).

How will his career go down ?

Will he be sold because a club wants him?
Will he be sold because we want to get rid of him(& possibly his wages)?
Will he see out his contract(another 3 years) with us?
Will he be sold after this season, next season?

Personally, I have a feeling he'll be here till his contract is over.
At his age, he's no spring chicken, and no sane club is going to take his massive wages off our wage bill just to add Jonas to their squad, who offers literally nothing.

I'd like him to leave tomorrow tbh, I wouldn't mind having him a a squad player but Pardew insists on staring him every match. I blame Pardew for this not Jonas but I'd go as far to let him leave on a free. But in answer to your question, the season after next

I like him. He was one of many to have a poor season last year. However I haven't forgotten how good he was in the 5th place finish (one of our top performers). Hopefully he'll get back to his best and offer that defensive wide role which can be so effective against stronger sides. I'd start him against Man City for sure.

How long? it really depends if he is in decline or just had a poor season. 2 more years.

I tend to agree. When at his best Jonas plays with plenty of energy and enthusiasm and due to injuries, suspension and Pardew's reluctance to drop him he simply couldn't play with his normal high energy levels last season because he played nearly every game.

He is nearly 30 now and Pardew needs to pick and choose his games a touch more carefully but for me he should be in the first 11 for City away.

Sums up perfectly my view regarding Jonas, but think he would only have 2 years left if Pardew plays him sensibly. Jonas cannot cope with playing every minute of every match and need to be managed much better than last season, thin squad or not.

I think Pards needs to look to use the more attacking Gouf and Marv in home games or ones we feel we have a strong chance of winning. Obviously its nice to have consistent selection and he may face some fans saying "how can he drop him after last week?" but he has to be braver this year and ignore the fans.

I think he'll see out his contract with us and either finish off being one of the best players in the championship or move back home.
Will he be sold because a club wants him? doubtful unless there's a San Lorenzo type that have an emotional connection to him
Will he be sold because we want to get rid of him(& possibly his wages)?
If Pardew goes his head would maybe the first on the chopping block. Thing is, would anyone buy him?
Will he see out his contract(another 3 years) with us?
yes probli, and when he does leave i'll look at it with a damn lot more happiness than even Ameobi. He stuck with us when he could have left, at an age where he didn't have many years left and i will not forget that despite gouff scoring, it was Gutierrez working his ass off that got us that goal against QPR that ultimately kept us up
    WHAT A GUY!
Will he be sold after this season, next season?
maybe next, if he continues to look too slow for the prem we will probs look to sell him for peanuts

Can't cross, can't beat his man, zero pace. I'd like him to leave tomorrow but he won't as Pardew bully rams him almost every night
