I know the slug and lettuce. Bit pricy like considering the one of the chefs is a knob who can't cook. Saying that, he'll be sacked by now.
Born in Chester and married to a York lass for 50+ years whose father came from Lumley. To rile her I just have to say that her and her mother did better than anything in York. Not lived there since the early 60s went we went travelling the world compliments of HM government, but we have lived in Kenya, Cyprus and Germany (twice). Many a trip back to family visits but noticed a decline around the mid 90s. Personally I find York a beautiful city wasted on the populace. No doubt it was worth the title of capital of the north until recently.
Born in Town End. Moved to Washington. Left Sunderland in 1993 after another fruitless trip to Wembley! Now living in Portland Oregon after a few years living in Amsterdam. Love Portland, great beer, great people and the most football obsessed city in the US. If you haven't been out here stick it on your list of places to go.
Born & bred in Washington. Lived in nocarstle as a student. Lived in Hebburn & then Roker near the new derby. However I now reside in south west London, good location 20mins tube from everywhere. Been here for 2 1/2 years, came down for work as the recession destroyed the industry I'm in back home. I do enjoy the busyness of the big smoke & multi culturism it has. I live on the edge of Clapham which I don't particularly like due to the posh demographic, who I find unfriendly, but 2 streets away from brixton which is edgier & the people more working class mixed with young professionals. Looking to move abroad now, need a change, hopefully resolving that this month. Due a trip home end of the month too can't wait.
please log in to view this image I live in a suburb called Canning Vale in Perth, West Australia. Quite a nice place, **** traffic in the mornings, but still a beautiful place. Perth itself is gorgeous, plenty of beaches, parks, the Swan River is great for a cycle round where you can grab a coffee on teh foreshore before peddling off trying not to die of a heart attack from peddling to fast. The people are mostly friendly, still get your dick heads, and the girls for the most part are nice enough, but most are pretentious when youre out on the lash. It is still behind the times a bit.. Perth is the most remote Capital city in the world.. Up until last year, we didnt have shops that stayed open past 5pm, apart from Thursdays, and everything was closed at lunch on a Saturday, and not open at all on a sunday. made it really hard working a 8-5 job trying to get food... But it is slowly getting better as we vote out all the old bastard politicians who dont want Perth to join the 21st century, and vote in some younger, more progressive ones. The aiport is ****, nothing but Fluro in the mornings, and always a traffic jam trying to get into a gate. Anyone on here spent time in Perth?
Yes mate, I lived there for 20 years, working offshore so we've probably met somewhere along the line. I was there before Canning Vale and the Markets were even thought of, it was just a swamp next to the council tip, but there are some beautiful houses there now. Great place Perth, my kids and grand kids are there and have a great life, I made it back to civilisation but I still visit there at least once a year.
Back when we first got here, Canning Vale was nothing but a single road, swamp, and a tip as you said! But its a great place now. What did you do offshore? ive met a fair few SAFC fans offshore, amazing how many guys from South Shields end up working in the industry.
Born and raised in town centre, Downhill, Hylton Castle and then Castletown. Now live in East Ardsley in Leeds. Got a lot of friends in yorkshire and member of a running club down here so ive seen a hell of a lot places down this way and there are some great places in Yorkshire and South Yorkshire. Still only feel truly home when I cross the A19 bridge with North Sunderland in front of me though!
The leafy suburbs of Grindon. I have a pub, an Indians, a Chinese, a bookies and a bus stop all within 100yds. Perfect. Having said that the pub isnt where I drink and I use different indian and chinese takeaways. The bookies does get used tho. Back to the OPs home town tho I love the pubs in York. I like to hunt about for new ones and my two latest faves are The House of the Trembling Madness (class name) and the Ackhorne (difficult to find)
Born southwick and lived there till leaving for university. Moved around a little bit then stayed in Cheltenham for 7 years. ****ing loved it. Am on the south west coast of Wales at mo. Pembrokeshire. Absolutely beautiful when the weather is nice. God awful all other times. Biggest city near me is Swansea and thats's about an hour and a half away so sometimes you feel like you live in a different age. And it's a long old drive back to see the family!
Born bred and raised in the lovely Easington Colliery. Saw the light and joined the army in the mid 80s. Had the opportunity of visiting many a beautiful country (and some **** holes), however there is nothing better than my home country. Now l living in the south east of England in Farnborough, which is not that exciting except every two years we have the world famous air show.
I spent a night in Portland about 10 years ago whilst touring the west coast. Seemed a great place from what I can remember. Went from Vancouver to Tijuana in a month. I was born in Durham and have stayed pretty local since Coxhoe Ferryhill (****hole no offence) and now Spennymoor well someone has to.
Born and bred in Gods own paradise of Chester le Street, on the banks of the great Wear and in the historic County of the Prince Bishops. 5 miles from the magnificent historic City of Durham and the Castle and World Heritage Sited Cathedral. 20 mins from the coast at Seaburn and 5 mins from one of the largest natural protected fen areas in England. We are also home to the newest and one of the most picturesque County Cricket Grounds in the World. It truly is a paradise on earth although the shops are ****e and the pubs deserted these days but hey, I love it.?
