brb I have got the tickets ordered for the Wolves away game. They cost £ 22 each. I didn't have to provide any identity. They know that I have purchased a ticket for a friend - I know I've put on a bit of weight lately - but I do not yet need to occupy 2 seats ! I will be asking for NO more than their face value - but you could choose to give me an extra £5 if you like. ( or should that be ME that needs to pay up )
If you do pay me the £22 involved, I am absolutely certain that neither GFC or Wolverhampton Wanderers FC will be denied any finance on the ticket.

edit - the Swindon tickets are not yet being released !

Just seen an excellent tweet on twitter. Giving me a solution for next season due to it...don't get ST, be selective on home games, in the same way as your match day ticket supporters, who don't know what we are moaning about. With the money I save, I could do more away days...less revenue for the policy makers...more entertainment than sterile Priestfield...and annoy alwaysright more...two grumpy camels on their travels...lol...you still got that picture.

I'm not aware of the actual T&C's of Manchester City's season tickets, but when a friend is unable to attend a home game and lends me his I have no problem getting in. Those are the only MCFC games I go to, and I'm quite happy to buy my programme and pint and burger inside the ground. Also I know of many companies who have 'personal' season tickets to Premiership clubs and who make them available to customers.

I really can't see the logic in not getting a bum on a (paid for) seat and enjoy and spin-off revenue. Wonder what the club would think if all season ticket holders decided they couldn't attend the same game.... don't think it would happen, but just imagine the atmosphere, or lack of, and reduction in match day non-ticket revenue.

brb - you know damned well that THIS won't really help ME. I only missed 3 games home & away last season. Two ( away ), were for transporting elderly relatives to long distance hospital appointments. The 3rd was my Barcelona trip.
It's not as if I can't afford the £5, or even to take a rare 'hit' if my son can't make it to a game - I am trying to fight the principles involved.

I have sent a further email along the lines of my calculations of the Club 'losing' a net figure of £244 for the 'pleasure' of ripping me off to the tune of no more than £20 for a maximum of 4 missed games by my son. I will NOT be spending a penny of the MINIMUM £264 I would expect in the Clubs' outlets all the time the extra fee is in place. I have invited Paulo to remark on the abject failure of the marketing decision by Mr.Scally.

I see Mr Scally has also spoken about season tickets today, not worried about fall out from certain season ticket holders.

The fall out this year will be limited to loss of sales income from those showing their displeasure by not buying programmes / refreshments / shop items etc., plus of course empty (but paid for) seats.

The bigger fall out will be next year when season ticket holders don't renew, depriving the club of upfront funds at the beginning of the season.

Totally agree. Although regardless of my side of the argument I think there is a few things that Match Day Ticket Supporters opposed to the STH argument need to consider.

I have stated previously a couple of times, every rule leads to another rule. Hence once the structure and photo ID process is bedded in, I believe the next rule could affect Match Day Tickets in the future. Maybe some sort of ID membership scheme.

Also I highlighted about a year ago our Chairman's five year plan. Am I correct in thinking we are now one year into that?

I have always felt that even for Championship level our stadium is big enough and the way us as a business (as I'm constantly reminded) could move forward is by the club in the future implementing a season ticket structure applicable to all - captive revenue, up front. Wycombe do a 3 game, 6 game, 12 game ST as an example. I have mentioned this in the past but trying to find that post would be like searching for a needle in a haystack and it was well before the knowledge of the current situation.

I believe there is a BIGGER picture to all this but only time will tell if I'm right or wrong. If I'm right I will just sit back and watch the fall out from Match Day Ticket Supporters, as I always do with a wry smile on my face.

And when that day comes, as a STH, MY principles will mean that I will try to fight the corner of MDTS
With ME - it's NOT all about ME !

brb - so it's alwaysright for me to take flak from a thread that you started ? - I can get into enough trouble on my own thank you very much.
nb - It might just be that I might be the last STH that the Club may have left in the not too distant future - and I'll still be kicking !

I don't buy a season ticket as I know I will miss circa 25% of games for one reason or another. It was clear today that the club has not thought this through. They rely on season ticket sales to guarantee revenue, and yet I was somewhat embarrassed to walk past a queue of about 50 ST holders with my ticket to get in hassle free. All of the programmes were gone so that will have annoyed them further. Pissing off your core suport is no way to run a relatively small club. Take a leaf out of the Barcelona fans' book and organise a boycott. I for one would happily support ST holders in a 1 match boycott to get the point across!

Based on what I saw today at the turnstiles and not just on all my thoughts beforehand, if anyone does arrange a properly organised protest, I will take part, however, it should NOT involve missing a game.
