That didn't come out as well as I'd hoped. I did everything correctly too. At least the title is correct and everything is still there. Trouble is, there's no way to check first. You're either committed to the change or you just don't do it. Crappy forum software. Apologies to DTLW and Fran for not getting it 100%.
Could've been worse TSS, on one of the old VBulletin forums I used to moderate on years ago a new moderator tried to merge two threads and it somehow managed to merge every thread on the forum (And it was a very large and long-standing forum), which promptly crashed the server and we had to roll it back a couple of days. I trust they ironed out that kink in future versions but I'm sure the merging process is still just as ****.
The procedure here is to select the two threads and then to select merge threads from number of options. Then you can select the destination thread, ie, the one that will carry the title and hopefully the lead post. Then you can select to retain, or not, links to the old thread that is to be moved. Thing is, the software just appears to shuffle/merge the resulting posts into the times they were originally posted and nothing more, with variable results.
Indeed, sounds exactly like it used to be, would be nice if they refined the process a bit but not even slightly surprised they haven't. VBulletin's progression seems to be more about bells and whistles and less about improving the actual software, which is overall very good hence it's widespread use, but there's some really daft elements in amongst it which have been present for years across multiple versions.
Can we please have confirmation as to the kick off time! 2 different threads, 2 different kick off times...
A lot of similarities between us and Celta Vigo...back in the top flight after a period of absence and then changed managers, though they managed to do it twice compared to our once last season. Should be a real work out. A lot of good teams have competed for this trophy...suspect that having a manager that the Spanish were familiar with helped us to get this arranged.
In reply to previous comments on the board re: finding out what our first team is in the Sociedad game... Saints are advertising the game by saying... "Only 15 days until the 2013/14 #BPL season begins. Want a preview of how #SaintsFC will line up? Come to our friendly against @RealSociedad!"
I've been roped into going! I'm just going to get tickets on the door though I think. I'm too excited to see Wanyama playing in the flesh, and to hopefully see Chambers, Isgrove. (Not to mention Lovren, Banega and Damiao.)
I wouldn't take that too seriously, they're probably just referring to the fact it's our only home friendly so the only chance most will have to see the team in pre-season.
Mauricio must want to see his starting line-up at some stage. May be more subs than usual, but MP and NC will want a decent result. No advantage to putting out a weakened side and being thrashed prior to start of the season.
To be fair, nobody can compete with -DTLW's committment and quality of match threads. I quite happily let him have the forum on that score.
Although l think DTLW's match threads rock, as a Mallorca season ticket l must point out a mistake. We won the last game 4-1, in fact we were 2 or3 nil up at half time, cruising and l spent a very strange second half with 20,000 people all looking at phones or listening to radios wishing Espanol would score!!
Expecting there to be some sort of stream via TVG this evening. Celta Vigo's official site seems to be promotion a live broadcast too.
