10m Euros for a player who is out of contract in a years time⦠http://tyneandwear.sky.com/newcastl...dent-gomis-to-join-newcastle-in-next-48-hours Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed the club has agreed a fee with Newcastle for Bafetimbi Gomis, and he expects the transfer to take place in the next 48 hours. Aulas told French website Journal du Dimanche: "We accepted the proposal of Newcastle, which is 8 million euros, plus 2 million bonus. "The agreement is now linked to the acceptance of agents' fees. I understand that the problem is in the amount and manner of payment of commissions. "There are several people involved in the operation, which complicates the negotiations. But I am hopeful that things will be resolved within 24 or 48 hours." Newcastle are not expected to have any problems agreeing personal terms with Gomis, with some reports in France suggesting Newcastle and the player had an agreement in place three weeks ago. Gomis, who has played 12 times for France, has been one of the most consistent players in the French league in recent years, scoring at least 10 goals in each of the last seven seasons. Firstly Lyon must be laughing their tits off⦠Secondly I recall a certain manager of theirs saying they wouldnt be held to ransom and would pay what they thought was the right priceâ¦which would be 8m as that is what they offered previously⦠Thirdly, thought to be the next Drogba even though he is 27 and has 96 goals in 296 games (competitively) so whilst it says he is consistent we all know the french and english league are totally different Personally think our dirty cousins have made a bit of a daft move!
He's a decent enough player, nothing more than that. Desperate times and all that though. Lyon have botted them due to the desperation, they didn't want the lad, he said 'I wanna stay' Lyon said 'Unlucky lad'.
Good signing, Ive said it plenty times before but their first team has to be respected, fully fit its a match for any team in the league especially with this lad and Remy plus they have actual fullbacks! More Frenchies though, I bet they are sick ha
I don't think he'll score loads, but it is, deffo, a decent signing for them. The fixation with Frenchman is utterly bizarre like, maybe it just so happens that you can fly direct from Ponteland. It's not as if they are buying top end Frogs either, it's odd.
But you could have Bent for £5m…surely thats a far safer bet and cheaper! Also proven! WhoScored.com ‏@WhoScored 14m Bafétimbi Gomis: Only Antonio Di Natale (70) was caught offside more times in Europe's top 5 leagues last season than Gomis (62) << He is another cisse by the sounds of it!
I think its just what they need. Considering Cisse doesnt understand the offside rule, and couldn't hit the target even if it was as big as the Great Wall of China, And Gouff ain't nothing much. I tried being complimentary about their first 11 on their board and had Norma Snokcers all over me for 'inferring they have no depth'. Bloody hell. Don't get me wrong, he is right, but that wasn't what I was getting at. I think their insecurities are getting the better of some of them.
Id hoy that money at anyone not to go into the season with Shola as our back up. Seems decent but isnt gonna score anymore than 10 goals. This is what happens when you piss about and have JFK in charge of transfers. Be a lot more confident for the season if we can take Remy on loan as long as we can send him back if hes guilty.
Pardiola- Shola should be on fire in his usual two games next season after not turning up last season!
Not sure how you'd set that up, I guess haten out right cos Remy is very right footed. Would be a nightmare to defend against, apart form the other 2's quality would bamboozle Cisse so much his offisde count would be even higher...
Me neither mate! Sky still have it down as a 1600 Sunday kick off, haha. As if, there'd not be a horse left standing in a 400 mile radius!
Even a noon kickoff is dodgy as we've seen. If we kick of at 8am we cut out out their breakfast beer and morning wife beatings (for nagging of course) and they won't be as aggressively fired up when all doesn't go to plan.
