The UK is far too incredibly indebted - it is already past the point of no return. Sterling is going to decline in the next year and we all need to put what cash we have in other places, around non UK stocks and gold. The government will not be able to bailout the banks when the worry becomes British sovereign debt (it is going to happen) and around investors who have actually bought the government bonds - it's currently like drinking your own urine to prevent dehydration. As much as we all wind each other up on here... I'm being serious - the UK is ****ed. If you have a position worth hedging then hedge it somewhere that won't be raped when the government decides it has no other choice but to confiscate bank balances.
UKIP is only an option as a protest vote in local/European elections. When the proper election comes along, people will see sense and vote Conservative.

Half of England think the Crusades have come to them, Scotland is a mix of chest-beating Nationalist Braveheart fannies or the type of Unionist ****wits that class themselves as "North Britons". Nothern Ireland , The Welsh are irrelevant and their assembly is ****ing pointless.

I've been a Moneyweek subscriber for a year, the bastards have scared the **** out of me. It is not only them though, I was having a conversation with a pal yesterday who is much more knowledgeable about these things than me, he's abandoned the UK and moved most of his worth (and self) to Asia, he's about the third or fourth person I know who's moved that way in the last year. As soon as investor confidence goes in these bonds the dominos will fall. If the government can't barrow we'll have about a quarter of the country suddenly lose the subsidised government income they've been slowly gaining for the last 20 years - and everyone will bitch and squeal about the fairness of it - soak the rich will be the supposed answer to all the problems, scaring everyone further east. Also the UK did have bigger debts in the 50's and 60's compared to GDP and was completely ****ed in the 1970's. The average Londoner spends 40-50% of their income on property - a return to a 15% interest rate on mortgages would put the country under.
I just want to hear the facts. There are two politicians in that article claiming that only coloureds are being stopped and it appears that they are lying. For the record: I'm not in favour of this policy, we should address the bigger issues not stop people on the street and demand to see their papers like the Nazis did.
