Sister last night delivered a bouncing baby boy - her first. Her husband is Spurs, I think I should just convert him to a Tiger from the start - straight in there with a junior Tiger baby grow. Would this be deemed acceptable? My Sister is a City fan, and has been to many games.

    Acceptable? Yes/No

Of course it is acceptable. Its a long shot he will be a fan of a team other than his dads but you can at least give it a try.

Considering your sis is a City fan as well, why not?

My dad tried to make me a Leeds fan when I was younger. Coincidentally my love for City came from my uncle.

    Fair enough.

Tough battle on your hands I reckon. He'll have him locked down.

Violence is probably the only answer.

I think my sister wears the trousers ;) I have told her of my intentions, I'll be honest and say the silence at the other end of the phone wasn't as long as I was expecting!! <laugh>

This is your chance, get in there early. The key battle is the first few games! Get him up to City as soon as he is old enough!

I had the same dilemma, my sister is a city fan and her husband a Preston fan, be proactive and make sure the first baby kit is a city one, then back it up by getting your sister onside...thats what I did. Four years later and his dad took him to a Preston game and he insisted on his favourite Hull City scalf.

Admittedly Preston hardly have the same pull as Spurs but good luck, fight the good fight

Buy him one of those baby kits. Your sister will be mainly responsible for dressing the baby no doubt, so should be a short step from there.

They are exiled on the South Coast. It shouldn't make much difference (hopefully!).

Just tell your sister that you picked up a new nickname at work 'Tiger'. Then keep name dropping yourself in front of the lad, playing Can't Help Falling in Love With You until his first words are "Daddy, why are you a Yid?"

I'm guessing he won't be going to many Tottenham games if at all, so you need to ensure his first taste of live football is at City. Do they come to Hull to visit or anything?

Yes, plus my Sister has taken in quite a few games when City are in London or on the south coast. So it shouldn't be too tricky.

    A Tiger he will be!

I agree with the other posters - get the kid City gear.

If your brother in law tries to convert your nephew to Spurs just keep buying drum kits, xylophone (or glockenspiel?), recorders, violins, anything loud that will do their heads in until they relent and dress the lad in the black and amber
