http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs...-relegated-bbc-hansen-survives-141026870.html Proudly defiant with his centre parting, Lawrenson has improved in the last few years- excelling as a co-commentator in live games where he corrects the gushing ****e of the likes of Guy Mowbray and tells it like its is- if it's a dull **** game, he says so. Heresy in the eyes of the Brussels Broadcasting Corporation. Mr Grecian 2000 from Leicester escapes the cull unfortunately.
Good, he's a cock who is both ignorant and rude of ANYTHING outside the EPL, both at home and abroad. The Beeb should never have let Dixon go.
I honestly don't mind Savage. He isn't great, but he isn't bad either. Lawro was a prick though imo. Like BCC said, they should never have let Dixon go.
Looks like we're agreeing to differ here. Dixon followed the money and although not as good as Hansen, Lawrenson always prepared to admit he was wrong etc. Ludicrous if Savage is allowed to continue. The Gwyilym Lloyd of MOTD punditry.
If he'd remained on Football Focus or Motd I can cast iron, 100% guarantee without a shadow of doubt that when asked which 3 teams would be relegated he'd say with that cockish smug grin "The 3 promoted teams". That sums up his knowledge of football. Someone should tell him the last time all 3 promoted teams got relegated. Cant quite see how you conclude that. How would you feel if a colleague was much, much ****ter at the same job as you but got paid literally ****loads more? They should've reduced Hansen's ridiculous 50k a week OF PUBLIC MONEY wages and paid him the same as Dixon.
Does Lineker still demand a taxi every week from his Surrey house to take him to up to the BBC studios in Salford and back? Evidently your assessment of Lawrenson, Dixon etc is not shared by the BBC, who have made their decisions based on their assessments.
Lawro is so anti-hull it's shocking. Even if we beat united he wouldn't praise us. If we lose our first 3 games then watch him condemn us to relegation already
Increased coverage of women's football ffs. Why not just show downs syndrome football and be done with it.
Can anybody win in this case? I mean you whinge at the likes of the MOTD pundits for being idiots when it comes to the other divisions, but you also whinge at the likes of Claridge, Manish & Beagrie when they commentate on the football league.
Lee Dixon is a grade A twat. I remember when we beat his beloved Arsenal, the next day he put up our team tactics on his 'feature', outlining our strengths and weaknesses, bitching and moaning about how a small team from Yorkshire would dare turn up and play against the mighty Gooners. And once we were relegated, he said something along the lines of "back where they belong". So much for unbiased, the ****er.
Not sure that anyone on the BBC offers anything insightful really. Maybe Pat Nevin, if you can cut through the excess of words. I think Sky is the tackiest, most over the top ****e on telly, but their pundits are better. They just are. There's just something irritating about football coverage in general I think.
I don't mind Jonathan Pearce, but they should get Craig Charles in as a co-commentator and relive the Robot Wars experience.
"Sir Killalot kills a lot" is a genuine Pearce quote from Robot Wars. Anyone used to watch Spaced? Robot Fight Club? Brilliant.
