“I don’t think he (Remy) will go on loan, I don’t see any sense in it.
I don’t know why we would £8m and then loan him out, if he wants to go then someone will have to pay for him – he has a buy-out clause (£8m) and we want our money back.”

I am starting to think neither Remy or Gomis will happen. In all honesty i think we are not prepared to pay the asking price. At the same time neither do i think we should if they are taking the p*ss with their demands. Carr is likely secretly scurrying around behind the scenes trying to find someone we have not heard of to appease the fans until January. I don't care who it is as long as they cant cut it. Whatever, we CANNOT go into the season without at least 1 more striker that is a serious 1st team option.

 

Tomorrow is a Friday. Perhaps there will be an announcement?

Adam Campbell to St Mirren is about the only announcement likely from this fcking club.

 

Still, at least we've been proven right in not signing Bony.....who's only scored twice on his debut.....I mean, we've got Shola.

 

Season starts in a couple of weeks. I'm a bit anxious now. A few mid table teams have strengthened, making significant investments in their squads (west ham, Swansea, Norwich ).
Our squad is paper thin again.

I'm optimistic about Gomis, not so much about Remy. There will be other clubs interested in Remy as loan's are being mooted, and we're not exactly attractive. Hell, if we weren't attractive enough above QPR, what chance vs the likes of West Ham and Spurs? So I think that's dead.

I still think we'll sign someone else up front. Niang would be great, but doubt Milan will be letting him go so easily. Ibrahim Toure and Brown Ideye are still the most likely for me - relatively cheap, relatively young.
