Would piss the Swansea fans off though which would be great! But I agree, he'll have a massive price.
Ha that alone would be worth it! But I'm just not a fan of the big strong target man - I find that whole approach rather boring. Give me a Torres type striker any day of the week - he had the pace, touch, composure but was very good in the air, just like Michu. Very exciting to watch.
I agree, speaking of Torres, caughtoffside reported that 'we might get Torres back if Suarez leaves' I had to have a laugh at that.
Michu is big, strong and able to finish meaning he would be like a Plan B for us (not saying he would be sat on the bench all the time here). Plus he is able to play in a couple of positions too so is a BR type player too. The transfer fee would be £20m+ though so there is no way you will see me backing this move, especially after he tailed off so badly in the last third of the season!
I really feel sorry for Arsenal fans. Has anybody visited their Suarez thread? It's a hoot. They are now trying to console themselves with a twitter rumour that is supposed to say that we have settled on a £50m for Suarez.
Suarez was never going to Arsenal and Bale was always going to Madrid. I don't understand why the Arse and Spuds fans expected anything different...and apparently we're the deluded ones! Incidentally, Real are supposed to be offering Morata as part of the Bale transfer - leaving them with Benzema, Ronaldo and some random youth player left as forward options. As well as the fact that they are still interested in Suarez (despite what the media hacks will tell you), expect an offer for Luis in the next few weeks.
Ahhhhhh, hubris. I see that they've all gone a bit sheepish over here after sounding the fog horns late last week/early this week. There were a couple of Swans lads sniffing around recently, if we go in for Michu better get the bits of bread out to fend them off. I think Michu is one to avoid though. As has been pointed out, he's had one very good season so we'll pay over the odds for him (same for most players I suppose) on the chance that he might replicate it with a new group of players with greater pressure from the fact that it's LFC and he's now expected to produce. One season of form doesn't mean he won't 'do a Torres' on us if we sign him up. I would say we need to be looking at players with consistent performance levels, but I guess Chelsea thought the same when 'Nando went all goal shy on them.
This is more like it from Ayre.
thanks for posting that. nice. all very correctly worded and nothing"new" but its better to have ayre say it again that hacks make up what they want. positive words on suarez, but still its force major...... when the bid really comes then we'll see your actions.
