Looks like he didn't grasp the opportunity. It's just as much the club's fault for getting the wrong player. Should have left him doing well at his previous club. Yes, hindsight, blah blah.
He's not as bad as people like to think, but was never going to make it in the premier league. Probably the right call for both parties.
Oh go on then...
Yeah, De Ridder never really worked out. I wish him the best of luck in the future though. The clear out continues. Kind of a shame we aren't getting any fees for these players but at least they're off the wage bill.
I wasn't being 100% serious. I've got nothing personal against De Ridder, but I have had to put up with the stupid "Steeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeee" chant for 2 years. And he is crap! Oh well no more now.
Was just saying elsewhere that I do not understand the cult hero worship of Steve but the permanent down-doing of Guly. Odd.
That was a really well-taken goal. I'm still not sure about him. He could go from world class to no-class in the blink of an eye. It will be interesting to see how he gets on at another club.
Thanks Steeeeeeeeve and hope it goes well for you in the future This will probably happen to a number of our fringe players who are struggling to find clubs to buy them either in terms of fee or wages. Sad to loose players who helped us up to the prem but that football I guess Onwards and upwards!
They were both cult figures, they are the kind of players divide opinion. There's clearly a lot of love for Guly too, just look what happened when he scored in Spain.
Guly is a many talented footballer. De Ridder runs very fast and that is all there is to say about him.
