I saw this article which is positive, hopefully they can get back to playing in Coventry for the fans sake. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11710/8848610/sky-blues-offered-ricoh-lifeline
Their fall from the top flight has coincided with our rise to the top. Hope for the fans that things will improve soon.
I see the Ricoh Arena owners have come to sense and offered realistic rental terms. Be interesting to see what happens with this proposed move away now.
If the club have already signed an agreement with Northampton to play at Sixfields then the offer is too late. This is what can happen when a football club does not own the stadium in which they play.....
Probably for the best for Coventry in the long run, they want to et out that turd bowl ASAP, its a fûcking awful stadium for football.
Only been once and that was to Highfield Rd. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s something deeply uninteresting about Coventry – even with that diving header by Houchen, even with an elephant on their badge and even if they were world beaters - I think they’d still make me feel drowsy in an indifferent and dull (possibly mildly ill) way. Hope they sort themselves out but considering Coventry means I can barely lift my fingers to type this hardly supportive message nevermind to properly wish them well.
210 season tickets? Well, what do they expect after pissing off their fans so so much over the past few years?
Shows how valueless a stadium is to a council when there isn't a football team playing in it as well.
brings back uni memories - house mate at Derby was a Cov fan, this was season 1990/91 they brushed us aside 3-0 in the League Cup.. he was gloating and taking the piss out of the Tigers.. now look.. their next game: Crawley.. ours.. Chelsea.. are you watching Jon?????
Living amongst the Cov fans here I have been observing a self imposed truce when it comes to pith taking these days, its too easy and too cruel!
You’re ‘pretty sure the vast majority feel exactly the same about us’ ? Nah. We create more waves – would be interested to see some of the objects of your certitude. On all my experiences across the country, living/working in different parts, I’ve never met any football fan who treats us with the exact utter indifference I feel for Coventry. Usually, people I’ve met are negative towards us (apart from a brief spell in 2008). A couple of hastily plucked sources from the net which belie your assertion of the vast majority feeling utter indifference towards us: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-voted-hated-club-English-Premier-League.html http://thechriswhitingshow.wordpress.com/2012/08/28/2012-football-rivalry-census-results/ The 20 most offensive clubs to the neutral football fan; 1. Manchester United 2. Liverpool 3. Leeds United 4. Chelsea 5. West Ham United 6. Stoke City 7. Millwall 8. Milton Keynes Dons 9. Cardiff City 10. Queens Park Rangers 11. Manchester City 12. Arsenal 13. Tottenham Hotspur 14. Crawley Town 15. Birmingham City 16. Aston Villa 17. Hull City 18. Nottingham Forest 19. Reading 20. Portsmouth
Most of those seem to be their for very good reasons. Crawley Town are likely there solely because of Steve Evans, the fat ****. Stoke and West Ham because of their footballing style, MK Dons because they are fake, QPR, Chelsea and Man City because they spend loads, etc. I would very much like to know the reasoning for us being there.
It gets a bit funny just above us. Villa? Birmingham? Tottenham? And then the bottom two are just weird. Who hates Reading ffs? We'll be in there for the PB singing stuff. Everyone hated us for that though I don't really understand why.
