......He made me remember me first boots - and me first proper footy shirt.

Boots were second hand. Stanley Matthews "Thunderbolts".........

Fust shirt? Was given the mid-60's short sleeved SAFC home top. You'll know the one - plenty of pictures of Charlie Hurley or Brian Clough wearing it.

Discuss. What were your first boots?

Boots, cannot remember. Footy top was the usual Man Utd plain red top with the white collar which turned pink after its 1st wash.

1st boots were ankle boots, 6 studs and as tough as my dads leather belt. 1st real top was an amber one minus the black bits and replaced with white. I called it my Wolves top and always pretended to be Derek Dougan.. Queer fcuker I was back then as a child..

Puma kings and and my dads still got my first shirt. I couldnt even crawl and he bought me a sunderland shirt the smallest one he could get hold of and I was still able to get in it at 4 year old. I carried on that tradition with my son.. he had a safc baby grow to come home from hospital in and hes now got a 2-3 year old shirt that hes out growing at 17 months..

Not sure what the boots were called but they were plastic with a moulded sole and studs from about 1973/4, first top was an old Chelsea goalie top bright green.

My boots were a pair made by cotton Oxford! Took some stick at school for those, then got a pair of gola ones. The top was the pin stripe home top made by le coq sportif

First boots were what we called "Winfield Specials" not sure of their real name, back in the day when all you needed was 4 different coloured shorts and top and you could make up 80% of the football league kit.

I tend to think of my first pair of boots were my first with screw in studs, they were Puma Hatrick, first complete strip was the Sunderland away kit, the white one with black and red strip down the sides, after first wash socks came out blue and shorts pink, think it was around the time my mother got her first automatic washer !

Anyone remember them boots with the ring of studs that used to turn, f***ing ankle breakers, made by Gola I think

chelsea, ipswich, man utd and wolves tops. what board is this? at least you've seen the light and your tastes have improved with age....

first top was a 70s SAFC home strip, i guess around 4 years old. boots? no clue although i did have a pair of patricks at one point, later to be followed by the essential youths 'kagool de rigeur'.

Cant remember the first boots bought for me but remember buying my first pair when i was about 10/11. I was in the pub with my dad and got one of them cards out of the machine (where you had to reveal 3 fruits to win). Anyway, i won the jackpot, so my dad quickly took the card off me before anyone complained that i was underage. My dad gave me the winnings and we went straight to JJB and bought Del Piero's White Predators. I had an absolute obsession with him as a kid and use to get the Juve and Italy shirts, so naturally, i was over the moon with life.
