Any wum aside, I don't think it's all about the money. Yes we'll have had to put together a package, but he's going to play every pl game next season (suspension/injuries aside) after 1 cap in a World Cup year Spurs bench was not the place to be. As for the ambition of the move, I'm sure Caulker knows a lot more about the plans at our club than anyone on these boards. Lets see what starting 11 we end up with before making too many judgements good or bad.
Oh yeah Valley did mention on our board he'd swap Ash for Caulker in an instant. So he'd make his starting 11! That was obviously when things were at the 'page 1' stage of your thread.
Vally aint Laudrup though mate... you got a good deal in signing caulker, its a cracking deal for you and ust what you need right now, it is true though that caulker would not be a starter for us right now, there is no way we could swap him for either chico or ash, thats not being bloody mindedhats being truthful! we all watched caulker for a full season and know his flaws, between the 3 he has the most to learn, his reading if the game for example is sometimes suspect and he dives in hoping his pace will cover him if he gets done. I think he has set himself up for life with this move and I agree he has one eye on making the world cup squad, he will do well for you I have no doubt but he is not a leader of men just yet .
You sure? If I was a manager it'd be a laugh to have an alter ego on the forums! How longs he been here? We've got the leaders already, just needed a quality cb with pace.
One person doesn't speak for all of us. Caulker is a very good player and played a big part in our survival. But he is by no means a leader of a team. He needs someone next to him with a calm collected head. Good player no doubt, but not better than what we have
A good player who I would love at the swans but he aint worth £13m quid . I guess it shows how much Cardiff have to h the boat out to ensure they make a good fist of prem football, some prices are just getting more crazy arnt they? I thought the deal was 8M though?
No way 13m? Jesus Christ that's expensive! Don't get me wrong he's a good player and all, but the most I would want us to pay for him would be 5-6m. That's a real hefty amount for a player with potential. As he's by no means the finished article.
he got in a bit of bother at spurs while in night clubs and was dropped, he got into trouble here if you remember while on loan, We have probably considered him but the price and contract fee is to much of a risk with his history of drinking, he got into trouble with england to so i think he has resigned that its best to get the best offer he could get....why the hell do these players who have it made bugger it all up by playing silly buggers...
yes i said he got in trouble dragon, spurs must have had enough as he was doing well at one point, you cant do that mun, you let the team down..
