Racing today comes from Epsom Downs, Musselburgh, Catterick, Goodwood, Doncaster, Bath, Curragh, and Tramore.

Well the racing over the last couple of days has been dire, but still the lads keep knocking out the winners.

    Biggie: Win 8-11 <cracker>
    Biggie: 2nd 14-1. <cracker>

    Nass: win 13-8. <cracker>

    Oddy: Win 5-4. <cracker>

    Bucks: 2nd 10-1 <cracker>

Sorry if I've left anyone out.

A huge day's racing lies before us, with most eyes on Epsom, where the G1 Oaks over one and a half miles, takes pride of place. And what a cracking race it is. The 1000 Guineas winner Blue Bunting heads the market and will take some beating. She came home strongly over the mile, but this is a huge step up. As usual, Aiden O'Brien goes in mob handed, and as such, he has to have a big shout in the event. His chief chance looks to be the Cheshire Oaks winner Wonder Of Wonders. With Fallon in the saddle, she'll do me just fine.

The other G1 race is the Coronation Cup at a mile and a half. It draws together just a field of five, but despite the lack of numbers, the race offers a mouth watering spectacle. Henry Cecil's multiple G1 winning mare Midday, clashes with AOB's St Nicholas Abbey, a horse who has only won at this level, just the once. Throw in Dandino, then sit back and enjoy it all. Male to beat female, St Nicholas Abbey.

Good morning Cyclonic. A bit of a disappointing card at Epsom for a Derby meeting, but it'll be exciting racing nonetheless.
    My fancies are as follows:

    8.55 Goodwood. Carrignavar (Nap).
His third at York behind Katla and Barefoot Lady reads better than any of these and , if fully fit for his first outing, he should win this.
Betfair's early price of around 11/2 and even money, place only, is very attractive.

    2.10 Epsom. Dance and Dance.
After a good second in The William Hill Spring Handicap,he badly missed the break at Sandown and then finished well to be third in a Class 1 at York.
With a good draw and the significant booking of Ryan Moore, he's good at least for the frame and can win this.
Trading around 13/2 at the moment.

Best of luck to everyone- and in the competitions.

Yeah Tam, I suppose we tend to get those years when things appear to be a bit lean, but then I think of the clashes ahead. Workforce, Goldy, ***, So You Think etc. We could be in for something really special mate.

Morning all, hope everyone is doing Ok this morning.

I had a very good day yesterday so will be largely keeping my powder dry today (don't want to give it all back :)). The one bet I have struck is on Zain Al Boldan in the Oaks - I was very impressed with her win in the Lingfield Oaks Trial, she is sure to handle the course and stay, and she possesses a pretty devastating turn of foot. Have backed her E/W at 10/1.

Apart from that I think Course form is important at Epsom due to its unique characteristics so horses such as Antara (1.40), Tartan Gigha (2.10) and Ramona Chase (3.25) should enter calculations.

Finally the Coronation Cup is a facinating heat but I can't help thinking the hype is taking over again on St Nicholas Abbey. Midday is a proven Group 1 performer and, good as SNAs win at Chester was, it still leaves him with alot to prove. At the prices it has to be Midday for me.

Anyway as it's my only bet I will go:

4.05 Epsom Zain Al Boldan (NAP)

Best of luck to everyone today.

    Morning all,

Just a quick one today as you all will be more interested in Epsom rather than Bath!!

My views in full are up on http://nassauboard.blogspot.com/ - however the selection is Balm in the maiden at the top of Lansdowne hill!!

Good luck today one and all and lets hope Blue Bunting and Midday flash past the post first to fill the coffers!

Excellent days racing all round to go with this superb weather. I'm going with a big outisder for the Oaks.

    4.05E Blaise Chorus

The price difference between this filly and O'Briens for only a 2 3/4 length deficit is unbeleivable and i think the extra furlong will suit well. Hope she can finish in a place.

With all this talk of the Queen's Derby horse and Fallon's (not) injunction, I'm actually quite looking forward to the "Binn Waste Management Perth Gold Cup Handicap Chase" on Sunday :smiley-finger007:
