Didn't include Ince in that, just the latest 2. Players who been bid on by Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal are not going to be in a rush to join us or any other newly promoted team. Just hope we don't waste valuable negotiating time on players/clubs who are using us as a bargaining tool then have to panic buy. I don't think MM is the panic buy type tbh and would just go with what we have. The flip side of this is if he pulls off either or both of these signings it would represent a fantastic statement of intent.
Sure Steve, I just meant that Ince had no ambition by turning us down. I haven't seen anyone else come in for him in the last week. Doubts over his character maybe? If he was ambitious he would have come to us and showcased his talents in the Prem.
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/all-about/cardiff city fc This looks like a dead duck but still WoL prints it. Must be a slow news day.
What is this all about? I wouldn't have thought he'd be a starter. He was a good player for us, he left under a slight cloud and doesn't really give us a huge amount for this sort of money. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rumour-mill-celtic-fc-star-5378336 Hope it's not just trying to appease the fans.
Possibly a back stop if the Capoue move fails although they play totally different roles. Ledley has been injured a lot in the last year and seems to be a lot heavier than when with us.
Sky Sports reporting a fee has been agreed for Capoue: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...iff-city-have-agreed-a-fee-for-etienne-capoue Also on BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23479981
Capoue could be off to Monaco: http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/0...s-out-on-french-international-etienne-capoue/ Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs also looking to get him.
21st June that story and it's gossip at best. Things have moved on a fair bit since then and every club including Monaco know what it now takes to buy him but they don't seem to be doing it. If anyone was serious and he's as good as he's made out to be our 8.6mill offer would have been matched by now IMO.
A lot to think about changing countries let alone Leagues. Maybe the Ince thing is making us sceptical, but I must agree, I don't altogether like it when the club agrees a fee but the player seems to faff about.
Whether Capoue comes to us or not, I still don't understand the Ledley interest. He doesn't do the same role and isn't better than what we already have.
I'm pretty sure that was just lazy Sunday paper talk. Even WOL were dubious about the likely hood of that one.
Poor old Joe, he made his choice and is now stuck with it(and happy with it if we believe what he says), hopefully not to return to the fold, not quite up to it for what we need. Capoue is dragging, the difference is here it seems he wants to move on and if no other club matches up we could still see him here, not holding my breath on this though, wouldn't be surprised if we were caught watching this one while MM sneaks in another like he did Andreas Cornelius
You signed Brentford 'keeper Simon Moore today by the way. Good young 'keeper, seen a few games of his last season and he was always a stand out player for the Bees. He's still prone to errors, as you'd expect for a young 'keeper, but I hope he's not just been signed as a third choice 'keeper and actually gets some game time.
Hector Moreno from Espanyol for £4 million? Swansea could be after him too. Sounds like a decent centre back. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/0...-swansea-city-in-chase-for-la-liga-defender/?
Saw references to Moreno last week, looks a good player who would compliment others in our back 4 and add some pace. The article posted also mentioned Bakary Kone, a winger who has played in Qatar for the last year.
From the Sun, Reading boss Nigel Adkins wants to sign Cardiff striker Etien Velikonja, 24, on loan. No lose situation I suppose. He gets some game time, he proves his worth and we get him back next year. He flops and we haven't had to pay him.
