bpl234, i would suggest that NC earns the rate for the job, just as the players do, and I guess you do! making cheap shots about his pay, and trying to link that to season ticket prices is just that - cheap. as a matter of interest how much will Boscombe be charging now they are in the championship? ah..... forgot...... just ignore the last bit as i am not on a wind up either
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, last season was my first season ticket, but can you renew your season ticket in exactly the same seats that you were last season?
Looking at other clubs prices ours seem to be about the same level as quite a lot of clubs. Leciester, Derby, Portsmouth, Ipswich and Forest all seem to be about the same. West Ham and Leeds are much more expensive.
If that fails you could always pretend to be a youthful looking 65 year old? Wink at the ticket office man, he'll be happy for the attention
Brighton - Adult middle stand = £545. Behind Goal = £395 (although only a small number of seats behind the goal) £460 is the price for the largest part of the upper tier on the side. Pompey - Fratton & Side stands Adult = £499
Looking at them, an adult season ticket at Reading ranges from £395 - 525, Brighton £395 - 595. So saints is towards the higher end of that range, but not too outrageous. I can imagine that the size of the rise is unwelcome for exisiting ticket holders, but it had to have been largely expected...
Must remember that we are watching the Saints..for their money they're only watching Brighton and Pompey
Knew it would be a big increase though, and will still be present at the mighty saints for what could be another very good season following on from the last two, let's face it there was some great footy played at st mary's last term
Dear Mr Cortese, I do not mind paying the increased price for my season ticket but not to watch our own and Reading's rejects such as Howard. For the price of my ticket I expect to see some decent players and a good standard of football.
Don't forget, last season we watched great football at a low price. NC said we were losing money in League 1, but he hoped to break even in the Championship. We all want what's best for the club. If we want to compete in the Championship, we must expect Championship prices. If we're high end prices, that's because Saints are a high-end team. Paying the entry costs and supporting the team is our function, now it's up to the team to deliver. COYR
Where did all the student hating come from? There are those of us who do proper subjects at proper universities, and also don't have much money... I also definitely haven't decided to 'delay working'. I think the phrase is 'get an education'. I'm the first to admit there are too many students to rubbish degrees, just don't drag us all in! Still, ticket prices rise was to be expected I guess, although I was hoping that they might leave them for a season as a bit of a reward for all we've been through.
So we're roughly comparable.....to be expected at West Ham, but Leeds ??? Oop north as well, that's a fleece in my book !!
Has everybody missed the fact that under 11's can get in for NOTHING!!! That is brilliant. A man and his two kids can get in for £23. This is a brilliant idea. It allows the club to build up a young fanbase. On a more personal note, looks like I wont be able to go much next season, which is a bit disappointing. I suppose thats how it goes. If the players get richer the fans have to as well. As for student rates, its a business decision, and not a bad one. Students will have less money than a person of equivalent age in full time employment. A cheaper rate is given to keep them in the habit of coming to football (or to win them as a customer in the wider business world). Why do you want Students as customers? Because in 10 years time they are likely to be earning more than the equivalent person who didn't go to uni. You then have the possibility of a premium customer from whom you can make greater margins. Simples.
And maybe increased season ticket prices will help towards the new electronic ticket card-swipey thing (Yes, people, that is the correct term for it...!!)
Lost my concession, but have no problem with the student one. Was one myself once. Young fans should always be encouraged because they are the future.
Can't believe there were people waiting up to see the season ticket price. So much excitement about a predictable increase in price! I can understand excitement about the start of the season, but about the release date of season tickets… calm down. I’m guessing you were all queuing with your parents for two days for the last Harry potter book.
Using our choices, with the changes of the Rules my group of four shows an increase of £443-00 for our four seats in the Kingsland.
