Hi guys. I have started up a League on Fantasy Premier League for us. I don't know how many, if any are interested but thought it would a bit of fun for us all to be in one of these leagues. Would be nice to see as many as possible make a team and enter into the league. The code for the league is: 614587-149864 When created a team, click the Leagues tab and you will be able to enter the code in when choosing a private league. Please let us know on here if your interested on here please. Many Thanks ICHB
I've been setting my team up in the last couple of days. Would be good to see a league between us on here. So I'm in
Nice, cheers bath. I've only ever done the suns dreamteam but fancied a change and like how you have a small squad instead of just a XI that you pick and that's it
I'm in. Usually do this one and The Sun one, but after some controversial scoring in the Sun last year I'm focusing on this one
Nice dazz. I use to really like the dreamteam when you were limited to 2 players from one team but since that stopped it's been rubbish. I still do one team as it's free. But this one seems so much better.
The lack of limits on players from one team was about the only thing that didn't bother me with the dreamteam. It was the scoring system and the obvious bias it gave to the 'big' clubs. For starters they include all european and cup games, so instantly players from Man Utd, Chelsea etc are going to score more. Then there's giving out an extra point if a player is rated seven or more in the Sun on Monday (usually by someone who wasn't at the game) and finally, the one thing that has caused a lot of people to stop playing (according to the people who comment on the official dream team facebook page anyway) is the award of three points to the 'star man' in each game. If Chelsea or Spurs were playing it was always given to Mata or Bale and they wold routinely give the award to players who weren't even eligible to be picked (players from european opposition, players from lower leagues in cup games, Prem players who they hadn't made available). It all just became too predictable and biased Rant over
I'm in - Pull My Finger Regarding the one in the Sun, even though I don't ever read the paper I've run a pretty successful league at work based on its scoring system for about 7/8 years now, though have a couple of slight changes to the official rules that I make clear from the offset. You get five transfers for the entire season (that can only be made at the start of a new month) and up until last season I only allowed one player from any team to start with, with one more allowed to be added after transfers. I allow two per team for the entire season now. The season is split into eight months (August/September is considered a month as is April/May) with cash prizes for 1-2-3 each month as well as the overall prize money for the season. It's £20 entry for the year, all money is paid out in prizes and I work out what the prize money is when I know how many players we have. Last year there were about 35 of us and it was £35 if you won a month and £200 for the season winner with other prizes for 1-2-3 so well worth it! You don't even have to enter the official competition as I update the stats on a series of elaborate spreadsheets that I set up at the start of the season. I basically get an update from the website on a Monday, paste it into excel and it all refreshes ready for me to send out the weekly updates. Last year I ran a cup competition based on the FA cup fixtures that worked really well so will probably do that again this year. The league is called the Abraham Lincoln Memorial and the cup is the Bella Emberg Invitational, we have some good banter as well. If anyone is interested in joining in let me know via PM and I'll let you know more. Anyone welcome, the more the merrier By the way I agree the scoring is subjective and there are definitely 'favourite' players who pick up star man week after week, the trick is to identify them and get them into your team - and there are definitely some bargains to be found in the non-champs league teams, Michu was £2m last year, Snoddy was £1m!! They've just released the player list and RVW is only £2m so well worth a punt I reckon
Definitely in. Team already assembled. This'll be my third year doing dream team on this site. It's the best in my opinion.
I'm in as "Tora Tora Tora Goal". So do we go Van Wolfswinkle or Hooper? Such tough choices! Who will take our one penalty next season?
At the moment, Leroy Fer is the only City player representing The Badgers. Of course I've changed the team twice already and will probably change it again before the season starts
