With Gomis out the running, at least for now, what would be the betting Remy arrives this week?
It could be a loan deal*, meaning minimal outlay, while after all the disappointments the fans would be placated.
    Cashley wins again.

*citing litigation or the threat of it as the reason

We had £15m to spend on Aubameyang, who mysteriously chose Dortmund, thus in essence meaning we had no chance of getting him. We have now "pulled out" of the running for Gomis, because we wouldn't meet a valuation whilst still going perilously close. Loan Remy and watch as in excess of £15m goes towards paying fatty back? Yep, sounds about right.

I've heard that the loan is on one condition regarding a permanent transfer - that we definitely, 100% cannot get him "over the line" next Summer and that our valuations of the player MUST be different and remain so without hope of compromise.

We are not going to sign anyone this week. Call me pessimistic but there you go.

Lots of names that I hadn't even heard of before, were mentioned at Blackpool yesterday by people supposedly in the know. A case of wait and see I'm afraid. We certainly don't need to be losing any of the ones we've got though. Of course Cabaye gave us a wave as if it might have been his last one.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, I really don't think there is anyone ITK (unless of course they do know, in which case they don't say anything!)
All we have is speculation and conjunction.
I agree with the 'wait and see' policy but I just have a feeling... and anyway it passes the time.
I hope the wave of Cabaye was an acknowledgement of the singing rather than a goodbye.
    Again, time will tell.

I believe Cabaye will leave this window. If its for 20 million plus that is too good money to turn down. I'm not against the idea but only if the club brings in an replacement for him which I can't see us doing.

    Good news ... Bad news

    Good News
Sky Sports think the Remy story has legs (Note the time of the article in case you think I am a cut-and-paste kind of guy).

    Bad News
That gimp Cwarr07 has said we are to sign him so it will never happen.

Side note: Odds have moved on Remy to NUFC from 10-11 to 1-2, fingers crossed.

Come on there is no need to stoop towards insults. He said you could call him pessimistic. Calling him a pessimist is just taking liberties.

I think everyone is bored. We have to sign someone (apart from Bent) before self-harm becomes an issue.

It's beyond bored, isn't it. It's unbelievable to think we had comments in May about the need for two strikers and we're practically having to plan for the new season (complete with Champs League soundbytes) with the same bunch that took us to 16th.

Does he visit this forum then? <whistle>

I'm getting seriously frustrated now. I am not going to enjoy my holiday if we've not clinched a couple of good deals first. Come on JK, you only have one thing to do - and it isn't talking to the press.

    Boredom is about to end.
With Queens Park Rangers signing striker Charlie Austin from fellow Championship club Burnley I would guess the Remy deal has just edged closer.

Pessimistic suits you better than Beardsley's Rancid Sack.

The problem is I seem to be saying this every ****ing week mate and we are getting ever closer (less than two weeks) to the season beginning and still we have signed no one. Its becoming beyond a joke now, it really is.
