Morning all It'd be nice to see some of the deadwood shifted this week paving the way for some new faces through the door, but we'll have to wait and see I guess. I managed to watch the first half of the game on Saturday on LUTV and from what I saw we still looked dodgy defensively, Pearce made a couple of howlers. Going forward I thought there was some promise though, there was a definite fluidity to the attack that wasn't there before, with players switching between the wings and the front two slots. I do agree that Ross plays best when pushed up front though. He can definitely play in behind a striker but I think he isn't as effective. The same with Poleon out wide, just seems to lose impact. I didn't expect us to beat Nurnberg, and wish I could have seen the second half, but it did at least look like we were playing BMDs style. More possession than hoof, and pressing more aggressively off the ball. Lets see what happens this week, we got off to a good start shipping Bates out, now lets continue that
Bates doesn't exactly have a good track record with legal cases, does he? Let the bastard sue. He won't of course, given that he'll have to fund it with his own money. So does anyone know if we'll have to honour the airline contract? If not, £500k would be a nice addition to the transfer kitty.
I agree that we hopefully will see some movements on the fringe players. But McCormack is a name i would be happy to leave. Overweight and overrated, needs to start to live healthy or his career will be over in a couple of years (at Millwall).
Afternoon All Glad to see the back of Bates. It will interesting to see what effect it has on the club. I didn't expect us to win on Saturday but at least we gave it a bloody good try. As for transfers I hope we get some in before the end of next month or we're going to struggle this season.
He's looked sharper this pre-season though? I think he had issues with Warnock and that didn't particularly help him out last season. If we did allow him to leave though, would you be happy with Poleon, Varney, Hunt and Smith taking up the reigns as our strikers? I think any funds generated would be prioritised into wide players and then CB before taking another striker on?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think we'll have to honour the contract now! This all happened before July, I wonder if this had something to do with the kitty drying up and why BM hasn't been allowed anyone else to come in? half a mil in wages is quite a nice chunk
Well just about to set off to town to see the mighty whites, ok a Leeds select, but who cares, I'm still going to get peeeed....
