QPR player wants to put nightmare season behind him and stick with Rs
By Paul Warburton Jul 29 2013

HIS manager is not sure – but Stephane Mbia claims he is ready to stick it out in the Championship with QPR.

However, almost in the same five minutes, Harry Redknapp repeated that if the club gets the right offer for the French midfielder, Mbia can leave.

But the man himself reckons he is ready to put the nightmare of last season behind him and stay at Loftus Road.

Seconds after he came on as a second-half sub at Southend on Friday, Mbia rose highest to break his goal duck and immediately ran over to the bench to celebrate.

He explained: “I went there because I didn’t score last year. Everyone was laughing about it, that’s why I ran over.

“I’m 100 per cent happy to stay here. I am happy to work hard under a great manager. Harry is a very, very good man with a good heart. I want to make everything OK. I want the team to start quickly for next season.

“Last season was really difficult for me and my family to go down to the Championship, but I’m willing to work hard.

“I was disappointed for the fans last season. They suffered. I hope the manager gets the chance to keep all the good players and we can win games.”

I can only speak personally that when I met him briefly he seemed very humble and commited.
I liked him and he seemed very down to earth.

Only time will tell I guess.

I disliked his playacting last season and I still can't forgive him for being responsible for the Arsenal loss away from home and that stupid tackle on Maloney in 'that game'.

He's not intelligent enough to play in CM and if he's used at a CB then that's fine, but he certainly wouldn't be missed if sold.

The playacting thing is as though he feels that others do it and get away with it, but he does not know how to do it properly and it looks too obvious. Need to go to acting school - has anyone got Ashley Young's Mobile number to give him. Alternatively, play him as back up CB.

Harold lets not forget told live on air he didn't think any of the players were good enough and wouldn't be able to play in the championship ...

He then has signed Simpson, Dunne and Henry

You work that one out? ... Players want to play for Harold

His attitude is right. I'd like him to stay. He could be one of the top 10 best players in the Championship next season

I really like him and want him to stay. His passing is not good enough to be a midfielder. I think he is a good CB.

I thought one of his best games was when he played RB at Old Trafford. Needs more discipline in the tackle but overall glad he's staying.

He'll do okay in the Championship - score a few goals, pick up a few yellows (& reds?), he's not going to get pushed around in the Championship, and if he does, he'll roll around on the ground with his theatrics and get us nominated for an Academy Award.

    He's got the moves!

    Is he entertaining? Yes
does he seem like a decent bloke? Yes
Is he actually any good? Not sure

So many fans believe, based on last season that all the players we signed were crap! That just isn't the case, they had all proved to be quality players at other clubs, what was wrong was that we tried to change an entire squad, it didn't work. But that doesn't mean the players a crap, what was lacking was confidence and belief.

Obviously Bosingwa was the only one who really let themselves down with his attitude. But any one of the others, now playing at a lower level could find their form and rip things up in the championship.

I guess I'm one of very few who would rather we'd kept most if the players who were willingly to stay, cause the last thing we needed was another wholesale change of players. Hopefully these players with the right character that Harry keeps talking about are coming in, but I hope we do keep the likes of granero, m'bia and Hoilett. These 3 in particular I think could well turn things around and if they do come good then we have got some quality players for life back in the premiership.

Otherwise if we got rid of all, won promotion again with the likes of Dunn, Henry and possibly some of the other old pros Harry's looking at, then we will be in the same boat as last time, a squad full of players who need replacing.

I just hope whoever stays, all fans can forget what happened last year and get behind every player.

Great post saved me typing it all!! I think Granero could be a top player, he was superb on some of his early games, especially Chelsea. Mbia at times was terrific, strangely his best being RB at Old Trafford. Got to keep some if the team and at championship level they may really shine!

Once again, for me his best position is RB, was excellent at Old Trafford. We've signed Simpson now though. Him and Onuaha would make a formidable championship pairing however.
