Taarabt could be marooned at QPR as revolving door continues Posted by Sean Smith Recommend5 Tweet2 Email John Powell/Getty ImagesAdel Taarabt may have to spend another season in QPR colours. "What is to become of Adel Taarabt? It has been well documented that the Moroccan midfielder has not been training for the Hoops this preseason as he wants out of the club -- hopefully to one of the more prestigious clubs in Europe. Unfortunately for him, there has once again (remember, this is a carbon copy of 2011 and 2012) been very little interest in a player whose undoubted skills divide football watchers right down the middle. Only two Premier League sides are interested in him -- Stoke and Hull -- and neither want more than a loan deal. At the moment, that seems unacceptable to QPR. But the latest tweets from chairman Tony Fernandes make for interesting reading, and could suggest that Adel's days at Loftus Road are finally numbered in single digits. One of those players that the fans DON'T love departed over the weekend. The chairman, along with virtually all QPR fans was happy to see the departure of Jose Bosingwa to Turkish club Trabzonspor. The extent of the club's distaste for the player is there for all to see one of the shortest tributes to a player departing. The club wrote: "Defender Jose Bosingwa has left QPR by mutual consent. The 30 year-old joined the Râs as a free agent last summer. He went on to make 23 starts and one substitute appearance in all competitions, scoring one goal." And that's it. Compare that to the warm words afforded Jamie Mackie on his departure, and you see the extent of the damage the ex-Chelsea man has afforded the club. Fernandes was less candid. Bosingwa and Mackie, who joined Nottingham Forest last week, will not be the last players to leave before the start of the season, according to the chairman. Loic Remy could be one of the loanees. Both Spurs and Newcastle are interested in a year-long loan which would be beneficial to QPR as the French striker needs top-flight football to be considered for next summer's World Cup. The second could be Taarabt, but is more likely to be Julio Cesar. The keeper also needs top-flight football to ensure World Cup hosts Brazil keep him between the sticks. So, who are the four? Joey Barton looks likely, though that depends on him taking a massive pay cut to play for Marseille. That one is up to him, but one wonders whether he has the stomach for another season at Loftus Road. Armand Traore is one of those earmarked to go with Lille and Dinamo Moscow interested. One suspects that Samba Diakite will leave -- Fulham and Stoke are interested -- while Stephane Mbia has been favourite to go for a while. Park ji-Sung is having a medical at his old club PSV Eindhoven, so he is almost certain to be leaving. That haul would take more than £500,000 a week off the wage bill. Added to Chris Samba's wage, taken off last month, the club is likely to save upwards of £30m in wages alone. Which makes bringing in the one or two strikers QPR need, plus a left-back and perhaps another midfielder a very viable proposition. If nothing else it would make for a very productive summer at Loftus Road.
Why? He won't play for us. He's not fit, won't train and (despite what some people think to the contrary) will not respond to anyone no matter how good/bad their "man management skills".
Needs to get his head straight & if he wnats to play then knuckle down, can't see him going anywhere at present.
I can see him going out on loan this season as no one will want to risk buying him. Great football player, bad professional
Pretty much sums it up, if his IQ was bigger than his age he might realize that to achieve what he wants & play for a big club he has to be trusted & put in the effort.
Why wish him the very best St.? We rescued him from Spurs and he wanted to show the world what a wonderful player he is. we thank him but we dont owe him anything and there is no need to wish him the best. If and when he does go just wait for the bile that will get thrown our way. My guess is he is listening to a lot of things fed to him by 'friends'. Where will those friends be when no other club wants to buy him. he wanted a new contract and got it. Players have been getting it all their own way for too long. No training, no pay. hopefully he will come to his senses and realise Barca are not coming for him and knuckle down to be the great player he can be. Look at the Ali situation. he is not being offered a new deal. Unfortunitely he had a bad injury which has affected his quality so it is right we do not offer him a deal. Football stopped being a game long ago, it is a business. Agents play hardball when wanting us to sign a player and now they are getting it thrown back at them. we can not get all sentimental over players, those days are gone.
Lets get Jim Magilton back to be his personal 1:1 coach. He can headbutt him every time he steps out of line. Good idea?
Been telling you this for the last 2 year brother...now do you believe me? Listen to Uncle QL...I'll see you right !!
Probably too Mercurial for his own good, sadly. "1. mercurial - liable to sudden unpredictable changemercurial - liable to sudden unpredictable change; "erratic behavior"; "fickle weather"; "mercurial twists of temperament"; "a quicksilver character, cool and willful at one moment, utterly fragile the next"
