Morning Peeps,

Ken is gone, sacked by GFH. Were GFH just looking for an excuse to get rid of him, and maybe biding their time til he did something stupid, if so fair play.

Its a bit of a damp squib if you ask me. I thought it would have been big news when Ken left Elland Road. Any legal action now will have to be funded out of his own pocket. I can not see him taking Leeds to court. He isn't jumping up and down enough. He knows he's mucked up!!!

We finished our preseason with a 2-0 home loss against German Bungesliga outfit Nurnberg. I don't think we were ever expected to win that one, but it looks like we were soundly beaten. Thoughts?

Will the fact that Bates has left the club have any impact on the following :-

1) Attendances

2) Transfers

3) Likeability

Morning guys

On the Bates front, you just know that something has crawled out of the woodwork in the accounts. He's been caught red handed for past deeds, whereby he has taken cash out of the business by having one ascociated Leeds utd company invoice the club for consultancy services. GFH have noticed that no such services took place, so questioned Bates and he had no answer. They agreed to let him slime off rather than try and prosecute him for things that took place in a company that they didn't own at the time. In other words the club was owned by Bates and he could do whatever he wanted, even though it wasn't ethical. Hopefully David Conn will be able to delve further and tell us all what the old twat was up to. Anyway, well done GFH for ditching him and proving that Bates did nothing for the club, except line his own pockets.

This week we need to see some action on players moving in and out, please, please please, otherwise expect to see us struggle for mid table.

Morning Doc,

Well put points. I cannot make my mind up about Varney. Should we keep him, or let him go?

Also it concerns me that we have not signed a striker to replace Becchio / Morison. Do we assume Poleon has come of age?

Morning all, Bates going will stop the rot but it will take years for the damage to be undone.

In my case I stopped going in the end as I refused to line Bates pockets, now I enjoy having my weekends back and only want to go to a few games. When we start getting a few games won I know I will miss it more. But for now I am happy on the fringes until the club start to match my expectations.

Will the fact that Bates has left the club have any impact on the following :-

1) Attendances Probably

2) Transfers Possibly if we can get shot of a few that won't appear in BMD's plans

3) Likeability Certainly. Everyone will love us now!!!

2-0 against a decent German outfit wasn't too bad, especially as we had a few players out that will certainly make a difference when they return. Of the XI we had out on Saturday, 3 will drop to the bench once Austin, Diouf, and Byram return. With Morison knocking 'em in for the 'Wall, albeit only a penalty, it will be interesting to see what effect it has on Smith and Hunt. Poleon and McCormack are at the moment almost guaranteed to start. So if the other two want to push them a bit harder, they're going to have to start scoring. If Morison is knocking 'em in for the 'Wall, that'll only increase the pressure, as BMD might elect to keep him after his loan ends.

So 25k+ for Saturday. Should be a good atmosphere. Let's hope the boys can put in a performance and keep the good mood going. In BMD we trust. MOT to the PL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all. Can start Shopping for Leeds stuff again after a three year self inflicted anti bates embargo. I see Hunt is playing in Dublin tonight. Will he make starting eleven Saturday. Is the Brighton game on tv people?

Not bothered about Bates now, he's history!

I went on Saturday and it wasn't good! There was nothing upfront and Pearce and Warnock looked terrible!

Poleon looked pretty sharp for the first 15-20 mins but then faded.

Theres still a lot of work to be done on this team! It's crying out for wingers and a commanding centre back!

Morning all. The one thing that will increase attendances is success and decent football on the pitch. Granted a few more may come back because of Bates departure. I for one would not stop going to ER because of one southern cowboy. I support the team, not the board or directors.
Regarding transfers, I'm not sure what's going to happen. We don't seem to have the money and with a week before the new season starts it seems we're leaving it a bit late and maybe most of our original targets have already gone to other clubs. I certainly think we won't be good enough to get out of this league with the side we have(hope I'm wrong).
Couldn't care less if we are liked or not. Dirty Leeds and we're proud of it.:emoticon-0116-evilg

I was at the game on Saturday and we were beaten by the better side, but saying that we played okay. But its the same 'okay' performance that we were used to last season. Green and Murphy sured up the Midfield and with Austin coming back we look better in the middle. But there is still no creative spark coming from midfield (unless when Austin comes back, it frees Murphy to go forward?). McCormack started behind Varney but I think the problem with that is either he is being asked to do too much in the role or he simply isnt good enough to play the creative playmaker type role. I did see him mopping up in defence a couple of times too!

Although BM has improved us, our defense is still the same and it is poor. Even with a stronger midfield, I cant see us cutting out the conceded goals anytime soon without further recruits.

On the Wing? White was terrible on the right (but terrible generally in any position in my opinion). Poleon isnt a real winger. I know Hall isnt as fit as the others but he wasnt even given a few minutes at the end. We need two wingers.

Up front, Varney, McCormack, Hunt, Smith and Poleon. I believe there is enough goals in any combination of that line up. However, only if they are given the necessary service as I don’t believe that they can create on their own

Morning all,

My answer to 1) 2) & 3) would be it'll not do any harm.

Saying that, I imagine it might put a little bit of a dampener on the transfers side of things (not that they're full steam ahead anyway). By that, I mean if Bates sues and the club has to put up legal fees it might need to hold back on spending to mitigate any risk if there isn't much money about at the time.

Personally I reckon Bates is feeding info to the press to try and scare GFH into not taking any chances and offering a settlement without taking it through the full legal process. If GFH can afford the risk though, I hope they call Bates' bluff and let him sue. Would love to see the details of Bates' dealings get brought out in court. Given his past record with legal matters it'll also be nice to see him finally having to pay the club's legal fees. Sure it'll not benefit the club but it'll provide some sort of poetic justice to the whole saga to have him have to spend his own money whilst at the same time providing some transparency regarding his conduct.
