http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/225499.html?CMP=OTC-RSS Found these comments by Mourinho really interesting. Why is he being nice all of the sudden? Part of me, feels that it's because he no longer sees Arsenal and Wenger as a threat, so therefore does not feel the need to try and upset us. When he first came in 2005, he did see us as a threat, and he tried to get under Wenger's skin. It's up to us to change Mourinho's views on us and get him to start hating us again, because then we would really be back in the big time. For now, we are clearly small fry for him.
I think it sounds like since he left Chelsea he met Wenger in several non-competitive situations and he gets on with him. I get your point about him possibly not seeing us as a threat but i think he will have plenty of friction either way!
On this occasion, my opinion is you are thinking way too much. Why does everything has to have a reason, and why does that reason always have to be that Arsenal is ****, the players are ****, or the management is ****? Oh look it's raining, that is because the Gods are weeping over the state of the Arsenal team. Oh look one of our goalkeepers had a car accident, that's because his reactions are so poor. Oh look we haven't signed any players, that's because Wenger really hates Arsenal and doesn't want to win. It is so tiring! And if for once you actually had a valid point, everyone would overlook it, because you are so overwhelmingly negative, it just wouldn't stand out.
Didn't Mourinho call us a selling club a few days ago? I think it is pretty clear he doesn't see us as a threat. If we are in the title race come April/May I doubt he will be acting all pally pally.
I don't think he sees Arsenal as a small fry, maybe was it because they'd get together in some non-competition events, and made friends a little.
Of course as he doesn't see us as a direct threat, the same as Fergie hasn't for a number of years. Maybe in a one on one game but as in having a realistic chance of winning any major honours, then no. These two managers typically use the art of mental disintegration against those they are in direct competition with. Fergie last season did it against Roberto Mancini and Mourinho against Pep. If last years Barca manager didn't haven't cancer treatment, then I'm sure he would have had a go at him too.
Couldn't really give a **** about what Maureen thinks to be honest, he's an attention seeker and people pander to him. I am though, looking forward to dishing out Mourinho's first defeat against us, can't rely on Drogba anymore.
