I've had somebody say that signing a footballer is a business activity. Why does the training ground have "Hull City Tigers" when I would have thought that would be a football activity.

I think that the badge on the shirt will change to "Hull City Tigers" because I have been told that is the plan. This originally came from somebody inside the club.

I support the commercial organisation behind the club. I just don't see the point of either:

    (a) trying to artificially split the club into "football" and "business" which is illogical if they are trying to create a brand - especially when they don't do a very good job of it! and

    (b) changing our name for the last 109 years to something new.

    What's training?

    What's signing players?

What's sending out emails to supporters?

I thought I understood what Nick Thompson was saying.Commercial is "Hull City Tigers" and footbal related is "Hull City." As well as the anomalies already posted I note at the bottom of the OWS it says "Hull City AFC business finder powered by....."( shouldn't this be Hull City Tigers? If you go to business finder it says " The Tigers Business Finder. Hull City Tigers business finder surely if what Thompson said is logical?

That was quite a mature and reasonable response. Until the 3rd line.

Why do you need to be rude to or insult anyone you disagree with? This isn't CI, people are allowed, and encouraged, to have have different opinions here. Your final little dig to every post you disagree with, loses you any credibility and respect.

Thank you Peter. I think that's the first time I've seen anyone actually post any sense on this subject from "the other side of the fence" as well as some justification.

I'm not sure I follow you, you said selling tickets to a football match was not a football activity, it is.

Therefore your point was inaccurate and weak.

I didn't see my comment as being in any way rude or insulting.

I quite often do rude and insulting, but not on this occasion.

This is the problem. There seems to be too many activities that could be classed as hybrid to make any logical case to classify activities as either football or business.

The club must read the forums. It will surely be someone's job to do this

Why they don't place threads like this on the desk of someone who can put this to bed once and for all

They don't want to put it to bed. They want to change the covers slowly.

It's not irrelevant at all. The name Manchester United is now one of the most recognised world brands due to 2 things:

    1. Winning trophies
    2. Big name players

Absolutely **** all to do with rebranding the name.

What people are also forgetting is that it costs fortunes to rebrand a name, especially the way they're going about it.

I would prefer if they would spend this money on players, wouldn't most of us???

The club do read the boards and know full well what's being discussed and the concerns that exist.

They could end it immediately, but have chosen not to do so.

Let's put it in footballing terms, the cost of rebranding the name was probably the difference in us not getting a bid accepted for Hooper. Who likes the name Hull City Tigers now???

I wish when writing these boring emails you would speak for yourself and not on behalf of the "majority" or the rather pompous use of "we"

i think "we" all get it , you got your knickers in a twist about the name change , why not organise a march with your fellow fist wavers to the KC ?

Ill provide sandwiches . . . ive a loaf of bread and some dairylea triangles .

I think Peter qualified it in line 3 when he stated "many fans".

Now, I can't speak on behalf of Peter, but I am almost certain he didn't include you in his posse, so you're off the hook.

Where did I use the word "majority"? I suppose reality isn't very important to you.

What's pompous about using "we"? I am certain there is more than just me with similar thoughts.

I am glad that you use the word "I" and don't tar anybody else by association with your comments - except one "we" when you say you get it. If you get it I don't want it.

I think he is speaking for the majority.

Can I have a ham and cheese pannini?

I wonder if whittlingstick will do a "feeding of the multitude" like Jesus - but whittlingstick will call it "feeding of the majority".
