Just out of interest, what other domain are you thinking of? I can't see why people are complaining about the amount of coverage. The matches are on BBC3, which less be honest, is a channel only good for Family Guy and American Dad anyway, and sure there's a few articles on the website, but it's easy enough to avoid them if you really want to.

I'd love to see that game too, because when said pub team gets slaughtered and has to resort to playing dirty because they're being completely outclassed, it may make you shut up.

To be honest, if you're using the England ladies' team as the benchmark then it's no wonder you think women's football is all rubbish.

Well, perhaps replace the England team with the Arsenal team, then no, no it's not.

Or are you saying you still wouldn't shut up even if the pub team was slaughtered a women's football team?

PL: i was talking more about the bbc website, where its increasingly displacing other features centred around the mens game. Ive no problem at all with them showing matches on bbc3.

It wouldn't happen, a pub team could beat any chick team.

You seem incapable of discussing chick football rationally. As many people have pointed out on this thread, it needs to find a niche and stop trying to be a lite version of the proper game. Look at Beach Volleyball, volleyball is a pretty boring game, but by jazzing it up a bit it's become a popular game and therefore lots of blokes watch it. You're never going to make chick football popular however hard the politically correct brigade try, because the best chick teams are worse than the worst men's teams. Why watch Arsenal chicks against Man C chicks when you can watch a better game on the local rec? The BBC should stop pushing it and concentrate on proper chick sports like Netball and Hockey. It seems bizzre that they have this rubbish all over the website and on BBC 3, yet hardly any coverage of netball, it's scandalous.

There's far too much men's football on the bbc website anyway. There isn't enough focus on other sports. When Froome was leading the Tour Rooney was the main sports headline almost every day. And if it wasn't about Rooney it was some drivel about Suarez.

Thats what is most read though, as its what readers want to see most due to mens footballs popularity. Cant believe how little attebtion froome is getting though!! Got to agree with ducky that netball deserves much more than it gets, more credible than womens football and no male standard to be judged against. Look how dimly people view womens tennis because the gender gulf is huge right now

To be fair, I watched a bit of netball between England and Australia a while back and while I had no clue what was going on, it looked quite fun.

I think in general, coverage of sport outside of football, rugby, cricket and (for two weeks) tennis is pretty crap in this country. When I went to the Olympic Hockey, I really enjoyed it but I knew that I would be unlikely to see any hockey any other time soon, and I was right. America seems to do it right, as you can get good coverage of American Football, Soccer, Baseball, Lacrosse, Hockey, Basketball, so whatever your sporting interest, you can probably follow your sport.

But I don't see why women's football should be made the scapegoat for the poor coverage of sport in this country. If anything, men's football (particularly in the premiership) is so overwhelming pervasive in this country that it should be the one receiving criticism. I mean, do we really need four plus televised matches every weekend? At least women's football is different, not saying it's any worse, just different. And the coverage outside the WSL is pretty much non-existent anyway.

blokes football on tv sells. Murdoch built a British tv empire on the back of it. Advertisers queue up to be associated with it, it sells papers, in the commercial world blokes football is a goldmine.

Chick football only gets airtime or web time on the BBC, an organisation that doesn't take into account commercial considerations. I am totally against being forced to pay a poll tax to fund this nonsense, particularly when there are chick sports a lot more deserving of the airtime and website space than this joke of a "sport". Even chicks aren't into chick football.

Jessica Ennis inspired young girls when given the oxygen of publicity, there could be netball players, hockey, beach volley ball players who could do the same. Instead of that the politically correct BBC waste the opportunity by trying to pretend a load of 6 pinters poncing about playing a mens game is meaningful sport.

Blind people's card games are different, not sure I'd want to watch that though.
