When people talk about us and our striker situation, they reckon we need two strikers. Having Cisse then Shola isn't a good enough strike force.

What about Gouff? He's shown his ability to find space, make runs and has scored a few goals despite not being in the striker position. He works hard and his scoring record in his recent french seasons speaks for itself.

Should we be considering Gouffran as a striking option, as well as a wing option?

If we sign just one striker, we'll have, hopefully, a quality player to play alongside Cisse, and Gouff 3rd choice, and mackem slayer 4th choice.

Is that good enough? Or do we need two more strikers?

We need two strikers. Campbell is going out on loan. That leaves us with Cisse and Gouffran, Shola is just a pile of ****. We need two strikers but we will be lucky to get one at this rate

Useful option whose optimum role has looked wide with us and in France (he spent the majority of his time on the wing there too). Can play striker. We still need another one - minimum, two - ideally.

Why do we need four quality strikers if we're not in Europe?

3 is enough for the mid table finish we're hoping to achieve.

Ideally 2 strikers as Gouffran looks more effective out on the wing.

If we are going to call Gouffran one of our striking options then we should look to sign at least one striker and a winger.

It doesn't matter where Gouff plays. Despite being the best player on the pitch, he will be substitued for Shola on exactly 60 minutes every single ****ing game...

Pardew has recently said he's going to be starting most games this season with two strikers on the pitch. Going by the good old rule of 2 decent players per position, we'd therefore need 4 good options.

So if he's a striker and Pardew wants to play 442, who's on the left?

Either way this spins we still end up with crap.

You would have to seriously cross your fingers on Cisse staying long-term injury free.

With our luck last season and Gouff's possible susceptibility to strains or knocks it's incredibly likely there will be a time when both are out.

I also like Gouffran but can we really expect him and Shola to be prolific enough to keep us in the league?

Let's be honest a competitive PL side like we should be, does need 4 strikers. Even if not for injury, you want options to change the game and keep them all on their toes.

For NUFC that isn't too much to ask surely, especially if we're so financially sound these days...
