What recognised goal scorer do you expect to get for £4m? Try doubling that. We need to be looking abroad to bring in the next Ba\Michu etc. You're right, there is no way we can compete to sign a recognised striker, unfortunately.

I actually said £4m plus. But Charlie Austin would've been around the £4m mark and he's a goalscorer.

I agree, I think out search for a prolific goalscorer will take us abroad. If that's Sagbo or somebody else then fine.

Could he cut it in the PL though, proven through the lower leagues, but not a recognised PL striker.

Not recently (hopefully that's about to change), and he isn't ours. He could put them away for fun this season but that would only increase Sunderland's asking price in January\Summer, to more than £4m!

A bigger fee doesn't always define buying a proven goalscorer!

    Michu £2m, Andy Carroll £30mm

Anyway, I think we'll see Aluko get 15 goals should he get the service :smiley-finger007:

Honestly think we'll be okay, think with the signings we've made and we really have give ourselves a great chance. I think this time round our squad is better and I think the Premier League itself is worse quality wise. Anyone out of that bottom 10 could go down, West Brom finished on 49 points and finished 9th was it? It's wide open.

He scored 7 goals last season as a second choice, definitely not a goalscorer... <doh>

I think Norwich are going to be top 10, they've got some good players & have brought in strikers who I think will score the goals for them.
For us I think we'll struggle early on but just about survive come the end. As we only have 6 games until October I think 5 or 6 points will be our total at that stage, although its obviously difficult not knowing how the players will do in the PL & how other teams will do. I think there will be surprises on who goes down & who does well. Last time I thought we would be around the bottom all the season & we got off to a flier, so there's no way of realistically knowing until November.
