Can't see a thread so here goes.

    Today racing comes from:

    Ascot - Afternoon Flat Racing
    Chepstow - Evening Flat Racing
    Newmarket - Evening Flat Racing
    Thirsk - Afternoon Flat Racing
    Uttoxeter - Afternoon Jump Racing
    York - Evening Flat Racing

The first race at Ascot looks very interesting with some beautifully bred fillies. And the 14.45 Thirsk is another intriguing 2yo fillies race. Will try to watch both these.

    For stick's Bumper preview - Uttoxeter 5.50

My idea of a bet or two, for what it's worth (copied from Thursday's thread and prices as at then)

    Ascot 15.45
    Ultrasonic 11/4 - 4 points win Potential return 15
    Zibelina 8/1 - 1.5 points win Potential return 13.5
    Auction 11/2 - 2 points win Potential return 13
    Stake 7.5

    Chepstow 17.45
Castagna Girl - 1 point ew if 5/1 or more (1 point win if shorter)

Off to my local tomorrow, not missed a day there all season.

    3 stand out for me

    York
6.00 Future reference 5/2 Win last time out at 7f looked as if he would stat strongly over 1m.
8.00 Altheroos 11/4 Rarely I go against the sousa/SBS combo but I liked the look of stouts horse last time out and is racing off bottom of the handicap.
8.30 Joafranca 4/1 Price seems too big for this horse on a 4 timer.

    3:30 Uttoxeter - Goat Castle 14/1

Form is uninspiring but have been informed by an acquaintance of the yard that this is expected to go well at a decent price. Backing eway myself at that price, do what you want with the info and good luck.

Morning, crew. Hope everyone on board is well. A few decent races today and its nice to see one of the legends of the county, Brown Jack that is not my good self, remembered by a race at Ascot. Anyway, I will recommend to the dear old regular readers:

Psychometry (2.00 Ascot) – I must confess that this one came on the old Chuckle radar following the eyecatching entry made by Sir Michael re her stablemate, Radiator, in a Listed heat earlier in the week. Apparently, highly regarded and working well, with Radiator, this Group 1 Fillies Mile entrant looks very much one to watch on her debut across the county line. A bit of a risky recommendation as I’ve no idea as to the standard of the, largely unraced, opposion but Psychometry would appear from her pedigree and future entry to be a very nice prospect indeed.

Meanwhile, Mr Henderson, the forum’s favourite trainer, has made several entries over the first 2 days of Goodwood next week – including my old fave Lieutenant Miller. Now a win for him would be truly ‘Glorious’, I say, ‘Glorious’! Boom, boom!

Good luck to all the pilgrims.

Barney, as the forums fashionista can you tell me what colour shirt and tie I should go for? I am concerned I will look more Banker than Wiltshire pilgrim at Ascot tomorrow.

Also, are brown shoes a faux pas in those lofty circles on level 4 at Ascot?

Finally, I see Hayley Turner is injured again, broken ankle for the forums favourite G1 winning jockey. Sad news for our Hayley.

Nass, my best piece of advice re attending Ascot tomorrow is not to stand under a tree! Thunder and lightening more than a possibility tomorrow according to the weather forecast.

Deffo leave the brown shoes in the wardrobe though, old boy. They were quite rightly ‘black balled’ at the Royal meeting as indeed brown shoes should be in life as a whole. After careful consideration I’d advise a light blue shirt with perhaps a purple tie. That will see you identified in the correct manner.

In other racing news Mr Henderson may bring back Bobs Worth over hurdles, I see. The route this term could be Newbury’s Long Distance Hurdle – Lexus – Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Wooly, that's not good, I wanted to annoy you outside the train station.

Barney, purple tie? Crikey, that will clash with the badge.

Nass, a purple clash is not the worst thing in the world. Anyway, I think you will have the kudos to carry it off.

Must say I’m very disappointed by the lack of poshness amongst the riders in the big filly amateur riders heat at Ascot tomorrow. Not one single Honourable or double-barrel amongst them! Standards have slipped, I’m afraid.

Banaadeer in the 2:35 at Ascot being well supported. I nearly put it up last night but the 9/4 went to 15/8 so i didn't bother, but it's been shortened all morning and only a couple go 11/8 now! May even go off odds on at this rate.

Apologies, Hawkeye, but I feel obliged to take on you and Banaadeer. That's partly because I think the race he won lto was a very moderate one, but mostly because I read these weights as a classic example of the handicapper rating the trainer rather than the horse. I won't go into the reasons at length, but I can't rate Banaadeer better than 74.

Conversely, Mr Matthews' last run in a Class 2 at York (13 July) was very interesting, and I thought he should have won it. Danny Tudhope - whom I've got nothing against - seemed to let him lose concentration about a furlong out when he appeared to have the race won. Jim Crowley's a better rider imo than Tudhope, the first time cheekpieces should keep his mind on things, and I really think that if someone more prestigious than Ms. Burke trained him, he'd be rated nearer 85 than 82. Also, I suspect that the York winner (Tiger22) is probably a decent horse in the making.

So I'm going to have my largest year-to-date bet on Mr. Matthews. If I've read this wrongly, I hope Banaadeer wins for you !

On holiday in sunny Taunton - phone comms only.

Ascot 15.10 I'm trusting that 10 stone and stamina on trust makes Highland Castle a good thing. And 15-45 the Godolphin second or third string Zibelina improves again from the impressive maiden win. Good luck all

Not sure what happened to Mr Matthews there, looked like he was closing and would get there then decided he didn't fancy it. Had the front two + Mr Matthews in a tricast combi <steam>
