Not sure if the club realise this, but you can only win games by scoring goals. Perhaps we are just looking for 46 draws in the season? At the end of last season I couldnt wait for the upcoming season. The promise of a good summer, where we got rid of those who had let us down, and kept those who were loyal. Then added to those with young, hungry players for success. It promised so much. What has actually happened is a completely different story. NOTHING has changed from last season. We have let go those who would give their all, and those who deserved another chance. We have kept, or more correctly, haven't been able to offload any of those who are here for the money. Who's fault? I dont know. Redknapp? Beard? Fernandes? All have to take some blame. But so far this summer has been awful. Unfortunately I have been to two pre-season games, and am going tomorrow. But from what I have seen (also watched the Austria ones) we have the same problems as last season. I am now dreading the new season. We have a severe lack of goals, and creativity. Tonight we let go someone else who has proven he can create at this level. Yes, he wanted to go, but what drove him to that decision? That is what is bugging me. Something isnt right clearly. We are totally un-prepared for the new season. Totally. Next to no strikers, useless wingers, and a core of a team who remain from last season who let us down so badly. Sorry for the negative post, but I need to get that off my chest. It seems I have lost all faith in the club to get this right in the space of 24 hours.
We won't even score a goal per game. We have no midfield creativity and yet sign an old hoofer. We have no goalscorers (Remy is not 100% staying} yet sell the only player who chips in from midfield.
I cant see Remy starting the season either way. He hasnt played a single minute yet so cant possibly be fit enough to start. Left with the two donkeys up front who have scored a total of 1 goal between them in 4 pre-season games.
Just had a quick chat with my mate who works at the club. He said he can't say anything online but its worse than we know and yes not happy. I should find out soon why. It wasnt just the forwards who got one to all in four games, it was the whole team. Not only that, we didn't create anything even against bad opposition.
Flyer what's your speculation on the inside information. Harry on the way out? Friction at the top? Tony f to sell up? General smuts to re open?
Blimey that sounds depressing. Presume he is on the message boards then and can read how worried the fans are. Things really not looking good. Have to wonder, does TF know things are not good at club?
Selling Mackie was a mistake and without starting anothel Adel thread, It looks to me as if Harry is putting it all onhis shoulders to get us up again!! I say that because apart from Jenas and Adel , I really dont see where the goals are going to come from. Unless we start playing "route 1 long-ball stuff" Then AT & JJ are the only ones likely to create at this level. i im pretty certain I know just how bad its going to end up.!! Seems we have learned nothing from the last 2 years? god i hope I'm wrong!
Unfortunately, we've got a manager who doesn't really want to be at the Club. Add that to the already toxic atmosphere amongst the squad and no wonder things are falling apart. Can't see Redknapp quitting, but I wonder how long he's gonna stick it out for all same
Havent got a clue, he said he cant tell me online which is fair enough. Ill just wait for a call. Maybe theres widespread unhappiness and cliques but thats just a total guess by me. My theory is Redknapp doesnt want to resign so is trying to force to force his way out by getting sacked on purpose. It makes more sense the longer things rumble on. We are supposed to have everyone in by the time pre season started yet we are massively weaker than we were a month ago.
bloody hell its grim on here today. i am sure that they have plans to bring in new players. 36 days until the window closes and top of that we can bring in loans.
Bloody hell! The Four Year Plan is starting to seem like a feel-good movie. Even JG Ballard would've struggled to write a dystopian story about a football club that is as bad as ours. My season tickets haven't arrived yet. I'm beginning to hope that they don't .
They keep saying Remy has a 'small' injury week after week yet he still hasn't played. Hate to see what happens if he gets a major injury ............. what do we do, pay him up 10 years of Long Service Leave or alike? I think think missing out on Hooper has really upset a lot of us for the simple fact that we all acknowledge we are light on for strikers but we seem to buy mid fielders by the bucket load. We wanted him, along with Remy, along with Austin and the current Dads Army brigade to have plenty of options with goal scrorers. If we have 6 strikers, a couple will be injured at any given time, a couple will be out of form so hopefully a couple will score some regular goals.
