I'm guessing you're fishing yet again, but just in case you're not, if you bother to read the thread, you'd see you're actually supporting my position with your reply and that I've explained why that would be in an answer to someone else. That's part of the reason me saying you don't seem to be a full shilling's just an observation. I can't help it if that truth upsets you.

I've yet to see a reply from those "not against" (which seems to mean in favour of) the change offer a reasoned argument of how a name change of any part of the Club would be a benefit.

Nick Thompson seems to be incapable of giving any reasons, too.

In my opinion, the Club have handled this badly and this has resulted in most people assuming it's happened/happening despite what the Club claim. Part of what they've got wrong is that they haven't offered any credible reason for changing the name of one element that makes up the Club. That not only creates confusion, but is actually taking people for fools.

If there is a good reason, the Club should offer it and it may even get backing, if there isn't, stop it and use our proper traditional name to avoid confused threads like these.

Just noticed that 2 e-mails relating to season card updates on 8 and 15 April were from the KC Ticket office but a season card confirmation on 26 April, some 11 days later, was from Hull Tigers!!

This can be the only reason Nick Thompson is saying there's not going to be a change of name. There has been a change of name for the limited company already.

How can you split a football club into football and commercial? Some things are one or the other but the majority are joint.

The only logical conclusion is that Nick Thompson is either stupid or he is lying. Nothing else makes sense. If he is able to offer a convincing alternative I'd be happy to retract my statement.

We have to stand together on this subject, not apart, keep the city in Hull City!

I've yet to see a (factual and objective) reply from those "against" the change offer a reasoned argument of how a name change of any part of the Club would be an issue.

The existence of this thread gives a clue to one, but the thread itself contains some others.

Have you deleted them or moved them to their own special thread?

The manner of it's introduction leaves a great deal to be desired; the powers-that-be, within the club (which name am I supposed to use here?), are either deluded and not fit for role, or simply dishonest in their communications to their business supporters. I think it is a natural trait for the owner to be disingenuous.

Happy Clapper, we are not seeing this the same way and I have no issue with that, but I totally agree with your other points - he's a joke of a mod with one of the biggest levels of hypocrisy on here.

If AA wants to change the name, it's because it's what he wants to call the club. It's a decision that should be unanimous among fans and board members alike. The fact that changes are being made is worrying fans because they've gone from being subtle to brick through the window obvious. We're being told one thing, while it's blatantly obvious that there are changes being made. Worryingly, if it turns out this is a build up to a name change, how many other changes are being made that we aren't aware of?

While fans shouldn't have a say in every single decision at the club, if it was something as important as changing the home kit colours, wouldn't the fans want some say in it? If they said, "OK, we're changing the colours but we'll let you choose what we change it to", it would at least appease some people, especially if the choices were totally free. Changing the name should be left up to everybody, not just a select few board members. Remember, this name has to be read out on Sky Sports, BBC, international sports coverage, radio, internet and everywhere else that news spouts from. At least if we helped make the choice, we could defend it better in case we get mocked (what am I saying, 'in case'? It should be inevitably) and justify why we chose that name. But as that choice is seemingly being made for us, then we can't really make a rebuttal other than "Our owners did it, it's out of our hands".

Now, I want to be clear that even if it was left up to the fans, I'd still be strongly against it. We've been Hull City AFC for 109 years, why change it now? This is more than just words on a club crest; our name is our identity and the fans that have followed the club for however many years are associated with that heritage. Changing it completely isn't going to make a vast, vast majority very happy and fans of the club are the ones you want to keep coming back.

Sorry but I stopped reading when you implied that some sort of public fan vote would be a solution. there's no way in hell that offering each fan to give his two cent on such decision would be fruitful or a wise move. Itd just create a bigger mess. the stealth tactics is te only thing I'm upset about frankly but I can get passed it and
    not cry over it.

And I'll say it again but WHO has ever called us by our full true name Hull City AFC?? no one. To most we are HULL. so I don't think that argument about Skysports and BBC applies.

The only one I "get" is the "keeping tradition" one. I get that 100% but it is very subjective.

Wise up, chum! We will end up as 'Hull Tigers' the way it's going. There'll be no 'City' in the name, never mind 'AFC'.
