Liam's injury real bad luck, we now have a solid defence with class over lapping fullbacks and solid, meaningful centre backs backed up with a class goalkeeper, our midfield even without Kelly could be the best in the 3rd tier with Albert, Elliot, Pearson, Wagstaff, Kilkenny and Reid all available, attack wise we have Baldock, Taylor, Davies and Jet, this could prove to be an exciting team and really could do well.. All of our problem areas solved for the first time in years and all playing to the new valued systems, no prima donnas, just team players, I hope we can keep this team playing together, things are looking up... please log in to view this image
Its bad luck for kelly who has been one of the form players in pre season and i have not made it a secret last season of my opinions on him that i didnt think he was any better than some of the youngsters we had. The good good thing of a bad situation is that we have much midfield cover. If it was a striker or full back then we would be struggling
Who was at the game? I heard it was a good performance, but apparently it was a relaxed affair and neither team looked to be really pushing. Also, apparently Kilkenny has one of his best games under SOD.
Not sure about the tackles, but his role and the way he and the team played was evident. Kilkenny can play this type of football as he keeps it simple, and plays with a minimum of touches. Its one, two pass move, in Kilkennys case its more one, two, pass be available without going beyond the ball much.
