<peacedove> Daniel Sturridge can eventually be the winner if Suarez leaves Liverpool. He is capable of scoring
as many as Suarez is going to score at the Emirates.

Sturridge isn't consistent enough (yet) to suggest he'll pick up the kind of goals Suarez does and the whole team will suffer if Suarez leaves and we don't replace him well....however at least DS wants to be here and we can rely on him not to go round biting, screaming and throwing hissy fits <ok>

  4. If he could stay fit (massive if) I think he could get the goals but he needs Coutinho too.

The thing I'm worried about is injuries with him. We really need another quality striker if Suarez goes. Borini is nowhere near good enough and I've not been that impressed with Aspas in the frendlies so far and his goalscoring record in Spain where its easier to score goals isn't particularly impressive

The thing with Suarez is that he is rarely injured so he will always play (bar stupid suspensions). Sturridge has the ability to lead the line and be the main man but his injuries are a concern. I am confident that our medical dept can help remedy this though.

It's 90% likely we're not interested in Muriel. He's one of them players, all the fans want him and talk about a potential transfer but in reality the club aren't even looking at him.

Didn't we say the same about Suarez at the start of last season? - "The guy is a real talent but he needs to be more consistent in front of goal"

I think the only thing preventing Sturridge from scoring the same level of goals as Suarez are injuries.

I believe Sturridge's conversion rate was better than Suarez's.

Sturridge and injuries is the same story as RvP and injuries. THe question is whether the Sports Science guys behind the scenes are up to the task of keeping the players fit and healthy.

Story this morning gives us some hope on this score (tangentally), as a Dutch Fitness Specialist is questioning Moyes' training regime with RvP
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/10200933/Robin-van-Persies-pre-season-injury-niggle-is-down-to-dinosaur-coaching-methods-says-Dutch-fitness-expert.html

So the question has to be, how good are our specialists?

Fair comment mate yeah. Can't compare the two players in terms of out and out ability but as I said at least DS wants to be here. He needs to improve but he seems like the kind of character who wants to prove himself.

If/when we do lose Suarez we've just got to hope we buy players who can share the burden with Sturridge <ok>

Considering we managed to keep Agger and Gerrard injury free for most of the season, I have the upmost confidence in them. <ok>

Precisely my thought. And given Van Fibreglass managed one full season in 8 at Arsenal, the problems with injuries they've had with other players picking up niggles etc. I do wonder whether Suarez will give them full value? He does pick up a 5 card suspension every season, plus the inevitable ban for behaviour every other season. If he gets injured too? I'd laugh if he started picking up niggles too for the Gooners...

Sturbridge has 11 goals in 16 games is fairly consistent I would say. Sure he has injury problems but given a complete season he could replicate suarez's 30 goals. Courthino will also score more and to write off Aspas after a couple of friendliest (in which he has scored twice) is just ridiculous.alberto looks like he has goals in him and Henderson was scoring more last season.
I really think the team has goals in them ,with or without Suarez , and with a couple of new additions, quality additions in particular erikson, I feel we will cope with his loss. After all our win % is better without him than with him
