I was just going to say he'll look a right tit if this doesn't happen, despite trying to bullet proof it with the Beard (who is actually on holiday in Barbados) and the Chairman are dealing with it line. Especially as Harold has been apparently tracking Hooper since he was conceived.
Means nothing. Bookies is all about risk reduction. If large or frequent bets are placed then the odds become less attractive to bet on, or the bids suspended. So it's likely to change all the time.
i'm quietly hoping you right. i backed hooper to QPR at 5/1 an hour ago. Already had him at 3/1 to Norwich. If he stays at celtic i'm screwed.
Oh well! I just want a straight yes or no, it's been dragged on for too long, Celtic are a pain to deal with!
QPR land £5m hot shot Hooper as Celtic move for Evian striker Khelifa By STEPHEN MCGOWAN PUBLISHED: 23:38, 24 July 2013 | UPDATED: 23:40, 24 July 2013 Celtic launched a £2.5million bid for Evian striker Saber Khelifa - after finally agreeing to sell Gary Hooper. Hooper, last season's top scorer, travelled south for talks with Queens Park Rangers after the Championship club agreed a fee of £5million. On his way: Celtic have agreed deal with QPR for striker Gary Hooper Premiership Norwich could still enter the running after Hooper, signed from Scunthorpe for £1.6million, rejected the offer of a new Celtic contract. But Loftus Road boss Harry Redknapp claimed a deal is almost done, telling STV: 'It's all been agreed. I've not been dealing with it but the chief executive and the chairman have been dealing with Celtic. 'Hopefully we're close to finally getting there but until it's done you're never sure. 'He's a player we've been chasing for a while and now we've agreed a deal with Celtic. 'We've followed him from his days at Gray's Athletic to Southend to Scunthorpe. Then he's gone and scored goals at the highest level with Celtic. 'So he's proved that he's a goalscorer and hopefully he can score some goals in the Championship now. 'I would love to see him being leading goalscorer in the Championship and hopefully that would mean us being promoted.' Neil Lennon is already planning for life after Hooper by pursuing a deal for 26-year-old Tunisian international Khelifa. As Sportsmail first revealed the Parkhead manager's first choice was Hamburg's Latvian striker Artjoms Rudnevs. Despite seeking funds to support a bid for Everton's former Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic, however, the Bundesliga side slapped a £4.5million pricetag on the forward's head. Celtic – who also chased Rudnevs when he quit Lech Poznan last summer – were willing to go to £3.5million, but refused to go any higher. Now the Parkhead side will turn their attentions to Khelifa in the quest to fill Hooper's boots. Capped 23 times for his country the forward is in Tunisia awaiting a move after failing to return to Evian for pre-season training. Watched by Lennon in Evian's French Cup Final defeat to Bordeaux in May Khelifa has scored 16 goals in 54 appearances and was close to joining Montpellier before the move collapsed earlier this week. if he reads his twitter posts he might be more inclined to, he's getting a right old slagging off from Celtic fans for going back to the championship. Lovely bunch.
If it goes tits up and he doesn't sign, I won't be too happy with Harry's public declaration of an 'almost done deal'.
I personally think he'll end up at Norwich. Can't blame him if he does, I'd go for a Prem club over a Championship side. Good luck to him.
