Hull Sharks? Hull Achilies? Hull Isberg? Hull Stingrays? Hull Hornets? Is Hull City Tigers the same as the football club called Hull City? We might know but will everybody else be as aware?

I'm sure you have a point there Peter, but, it's just not obvious. If you were talking to anyone about football, they'd know who you mean. How is Hull City Tigers anything at all like Hull Sharks? Other than the first word of course.

Most people will still refer to the club as Hull City. Some will use just Hull (which by your argument would be even more confusing). Some will still just say Mighty Hull City Tigers, RAAWWWWR. End of the day, it's the same thing.

So you have to introduce football into the conversation first? Isn't that the opposite of branding? Do you say "Manchester United - that's the football club"?

If you said: "Chelsea Blues" would you have to remind them that it's a football club?

The "City" has now been dropped from todays email, it now says Hull Tigers AFC...prompting this email to the club

    View attachment 24958

    Good evening,

I have received an email today regarding the Chelsea away game, and you are now quite brazenly sending emails with “Hull Tigers AFC”.

Please note the club I support is Hull City AFC, not Hull Tigers AFC.

Please could you ensure my message of dissatisfaction reaches the relevant department.

Unless you revert back to the proper name for our club please could you unsubscribe me from future mailings.

    Kind regards,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention - I missed the reference to HULL TIGERS AFC on the recent email I received from the Club about applying for tickets for the Chelsea game.

This is nothing less than rebranding by stealth.

I have similarly told the Club of my disappointment in this matter and instructed them not to send me any further emails or correspondence with this hideous REBRANDING displayed.

The worst thing about this is certainly the fact it seems to be rebranding by stealth.

If they just came out and said their plans, not as many people would be so angry with the Allams/club about this.

**** me it gets worse - on viewing the OWS to contact the Club its now also HULL CITY TIGERS, KC Stadium West Park...

How long before the official club crest drops the City AFC from above the tigers head and merely replaces it with Hull Tigers - saves having the word Tigers below the head (Note this was until recently The Tigers)

You heard it here first.. they can royally **** off..

Think it could be a good idea if someone (not me Im a lazy fart) set up one of those online petitions, to demonstrate hoe many fans are against this rebranding

You say "why fix something that isn't broken?" yet you contradict yourself by suggesting we are struggling to attract players and that we don't have a great rep as it is... would you class that as not broken?

On top of that the majority of people outside of the city call us Hull (and sometimes Hull FC) which according to your logic should be just as offensive (anything other than Hull city AFC would be)... so clearly the "brand" of the club is confusing to the majority of people and it clearly is broken.

I have read it and it doesn't change my stance. You utter mugs seem to think that we (me and a few others on here) are lobbying for the change when we're merely pointing out that it doesn't upset us if the OWNERS of the club who have forked out a ton of money and saved the club want to make a change to our name, a change that isn't as drastic as some are making it out to be. I'm not overjoyed by it but I'm not gonna start slagging the Allams off, start supporting Ferriby like some have said or lose sleep over it.

There are far more important things to worry about in this world (such as our strike force ;D )

Not as much as they do the poor, and what's more the rich don't give a **** about people who do.

Which is why most of us want to be rich.

As I recall the interview with Nick Thompson the commercial arm of the club was Hull City Tigers. The sponsors for the east stand called us Hull Tigers (in error?) and on RH it was reported that a notice for the game against Chelsea in Allams factory repeated Hull Tigers. To contact the club its Hull City Tigers. If the management, as it might appear to be, want to change the name at least be open about it.

They can call the club what they like as long as they email me the forms for the away matches. That is the most important thing, being there to cheer them on.
