No quotes or anything re Suarez wanting to talk to Arsenal? And again the beeb finish another article referring to his two bans. What's the odds that if he signed for Arsenal that will be the end of them finishing every article with references to both bans.
I have always wondered why it is perfectly acceptable for Arsenal/Chelsea to show interest and potentially own Suarez, but he is a disgrace to English football when here and we should sell him as soon as possible.
How will it be a shame for them to miss out on Suarez? I was talking about the 40,000,000 and 1 pound figure they offered
If we sell him to Arsenal I'll be truly pissed off. Madrid ok but not another prem club. Just the beeb ****pigs are still referring to a ban he got 2 years ago in every ****ing piece of tripe they put on that ****pig salford site
It doesn't prove anything. The club and Suarez's agent are meant to be arguing about it. Anyone associated with the club is going to be on the clubs side.
Course it does. Henry will be being kept abreast of the discussions/situation on a daily basis, he will know Suarez contract inside out and will have sought clarification from his army of layers/attorneys. If he is happy to post a tweet that effectively takes the piss out of Arsenals offer its because he knows the club has all the cards IE. no release clause. He wouldn't risk sending a disparaging tweet about an offer like that so publicly if there was any chance that Suarez could leave for a few quid more than the fee offered that he is effectively laughing at, only to see him leave through a legally binding clause in his contract. Only other possible explanation to my mind is there IS a valid release clause but its somewhere around the stupid stupid stupid money area aka Ronaldo, which means it won't be met, effectively meaning there is no practical release clause to get him away.
But as I said, the club believe one thing, the agent another. Henry as club owner is bound to be thinking the same as the club.
Henry wouldn't be the first owner to misunderstand a potential release clause in a player's contract. Venky's made the same error with Jones, thinking his clause meant they could get more money than we offered, and even took it to FIFA they were so confident they were right. Tho' Henry is probably much more aware of what's going on than the chicken farmers....
Given that Arsenal have paid off their stadium and this £40m+ outspends even our record bid for Carroll, I'd say whatever they are smoking at the Emirates, it's being wrapped in notes of much larger denominations than JW can afford. I'm also reminded of when JW said last summer, "It was realistic to expect top four last season but not this." Pin-eyed stoner.
Yes I couldn't agree more, though I have to believe that Henry was extra sure of his ground before tweeting that............surely...
Henry has been through a number of deals now plus he has access to an army of lawyers and advisers. I therefore think that he is well aware of the ground that he stands on. The only person who wants a swift resolution to this matter is Suarez. Pouting and generally being a pain in the arse is going to get him nowhere. After all LFC are going to be without his services for the first 6 games of the new season anyway. So unless a non-UK side puts in a firm bid closer to the expected £60 million then John Henry can stand on his dignity and keep doing a de Gaulle to UK applications to join the EEC
There is no release clause at all. From FSW point of view, the clause simply states that LFC must formally inform Suarez of the bid for him. Suarez's interpretation of the clause is that he should be given permission to speak to whoever meets it. No matter what the clause actually is, there is clearly a difference in opinion on it from both parties which is likely to cause friction between them, which is what Arsenal were hoping to do by making the bid (in my opinion).
I doubt anybody at FSG or LFC could give a **** what Arsenal's intentions are. The Suarez dilemma today is the same as it was at the end of last season, nothing has changed. we want him to remain a Liverpool player unless somebody offers us a transfer fee close to or above our valuation of the player (which according to the media is over £60 million). All Arsenal's action so far have done is to demonstrate that they have little understanding of LFC's position and therefore made themselves look foolish - at least to John Henry
Yep, FSG and LFC don't give a **** about our intentions, that's why first thing this morning John Henry went on twitter to talk about them. You will not be getting £60M from us for Suarez, and I doubt you will get anything over £35M from Madrid.
You'd like to think so It may sound crazy but could this be a case of 'lost in translation'...? Of course, its a contract at a British company for an employee that would be required to pay PAYE to HMRC so if that is the case you would think it would favour the club. You've obviously not experienced John Henry on twitter too often. If we don't get our asking price (whether that is £40m or £60m) then he stays put. It really is that simple
We will see. I believe if Suarez waves his loyalty bonuses by handing in a transfer request, we will compromise at £45M.
