Co-chariman David Sullivan expressed the club's desire to add to their attacking options over his son's Twitter account. "We are happy with the rest of the team - all we need now is pace and goals," the 64-year-old said. Record signing Andy Carroll is currently continuing with his rehabilitation from a heel injury sustained last season and is set to miss the start of the new campaign. Remy, who signed for QPR in a £8m deal in January, is Allardyce’s key target after a work permit for Zapata was rejected. QPR manager Harry Redknapp is hoping to keep the Frenchman at the club, unless an offer equivalent to their January outlay is matched. The French international rejected the north-east club in favour of accepting a £75,000-a-week deal at Loftus Road in the winter transfer window. West Ham came close to signing Remy in 2010 after agreeing an £11.5m fee with his then club Nice, before a move fell through with the striker opting to join Marseille.
Strewth, my folks paid big time to send me all those years ago to expensive private schooling. Back then, we were taught 2 + 2 = 4 ! I'd be dammed if I'm going to tell them now ( well, mother at least ) that they were ripped off! To think, every calculator that I've ever own was faulty ........ Bas_tards I say !
Why would they try and want to sign him with the possibility of a jail sentence hanging over his head? Definate BS I reckon!
You'd think so, but proven quality strikers are in very short supply, especially with a £6.8m release clause. I'm sure there will be some legal wizardry which could protect the purchaser, and hopefully the vendor, in the event of incarceration of the product. This was an alleged £20m player 2 seasons ago.
Perhaps WHU are hoping his potential incarceration will reduce the asking price considerably. Surely it would be worth them risking losing, say, 2 million to sign Remy if things went wrong and he went to prison?
I think you're right Husky. A £2m down payment, rest on conclusion of court case if no jail, write off if jailed, or something like that perhaps.
I am willing to wager that if anyone wants him on this sort of charge ... they will make it vanish as quickly as it was originated. If Remy had done some seriously wrong ... i.e. there was no doubt ... he would be locked up now... Sex/Vice is a tag that can be labelled to a famous career at will today ... money talks As this drama unfolds I am sure either way it will evaporate by powers greater than we can understand. Remy came for money and to showcase ... money will take him away again. He is a brilliant forward and this is about QPR getting good money
