    Eye up peeps,

A CONCERNED Brian McDermott revealed that he was operating a ‘one out, one in’ transfer policy at Elland Road after Leeds United suffered their third successive pre-season loss.

The United manager outlined the financial constraints affecting him as he reflected on a sobering 1-0 defeat to Walsall on Saturday.

Weaknesses and limitations in Leeds’ squad were highlighted by a lacklustre performance against a League One side who earned their win through Craig Westcarr’s 12th-minute volley.

McDermott described the afternoon as “the worst I’ve had as manager here” but he was unable to offer hope of quick additions to his squad after admitting that he was under pressure to remove players from United’s wage bill.

We have appointed Paul Hunt as the new acting CEO. Hunt, who has previously worked for Leicester City, Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers, fills the role vacated by Shaun Harvey recently.

He left his last job at Blackburn Rovers in May 2012 amid controversy after an email he sent to the Rovers owners was leaked. Hunt laid out a ten-point plan, which included the sacking of manager Steve Kean and his appointed to CEO from Deputy CEO. He previously worked as a commercial manager for both Leicester and Wigan and Leeds have reported that he has been working at Elland Road on a consultancy basis. (He sounds like a nice lad)

Leeds United officials have spoken of their “disappointment” after fans trashed the away bar during Saturday’s match at Walsall.

Shelves were smashed and ceiling panels damaged in the bar during half-time of the match, which United lost 1-0.

West Midlands Police said they believed the damage, which ran into hundreds of pounds, was caused by Leeds fans.

Walsall football policing officer, Pc Colin Barlow, said: “During half time the ceiling and shelving around the away bar was damaged.

“It is believed this will cost several hundreds of pounds to repair.”

A spokesman for Leeds said: “We were disappointed to hear about this incident and we will be speaking to Walsall Football Club to ascertain the damage caused and we will co-operate with every party in any investigation that may arise.”

This bloke sounds like a real coont and makes me wonder why he's here? Blackburn deserve all they get because they would still be in the prem if they hadn't have sacked big Sam. So what has this bloke brought to party, Wigan and Leicester are hardly massive beacons of best practice?

I was optimistic and suppose I still think we'll do better than last season, but I do worry about BMD not being motivated. he was promised backing, not given it and told to struggle with what he has unless he can offload players who nobody wants .... If his head drops it will affect the group and may force the manager to accept other offers. Come on GFH you're supposed to be bringing new cash into the club, get on with it !!!!

Song of the day: I wanna shove that camel right up your cheap arse <grr>

Morning all. Song of the day has to be, "Things can only get better"!!

Anyone on here coming down for tonight's game?

Irritating that we apparently wrecked a bar at Walsall. Won't do our reputation a lot of good. C'est La Vie.

Situation with BMD and a lack of funds is a bit worrying, but we were told at the start that GFH were building for the long term in a sustainable manner. So no surprise that we've got to let a few go before we can bring anymore in. What we really need, apart from a CB and a winger, is for thos that start to show a bit more fight and commitment. It will happen I'm sure. But we need to start by turing over Stevenage tonight.

Even if GFH gave you 10m to spend with the ffp rules coming into force you would be nuts to bring in more players without off loading first <ok> Clubs are trimming squds not adding to them <ok>
contracts are being cancelled by mutual concent and players allowed to leave clubs as they trim their wage bills <ok>

unless youre millwall and off loaded your deadwood early <laugh>

Morning all. Difficult to see where we can get rid of our unwanted rubbish to. There must be a glut of similar type wasters available with all teams culling their squads. Unless our lot are willing to drop a division or two, we may be stuck with them. On a positive note though, Darren O'Dea has secured a three year deal with another Canadian club so I suppose there's hope for any player

Whites :emoticon-0103-cool: As you well know there are arabs who seem to live in poverty under canvas. We have the poorest arabs in the world in charge of our club, but wish we had the Tuareg in charge <whistle>

Morning all. I wouldn't blame Maccer if he fecked off. It seems he was promised this and that by the club(that's just my take on it) when they were interviewing him for the job, but since he signed have gone back on their word. I could be totally wrong because I wasn't privvy to their meetings, but once again something doesn't feel right at this once great club.

Good Morning, I wonder if Red Bull could sponsor the new Royal baby? Would look nice in a babygro with red bull logo. Kate could appear in ads, explaining how she had an epidural of Red Bull at the key stage of labour. At the next state occasion the new Royal sprog could travel in a carriage designed to look like a Red Bull can on wheels. Possibilities for brand enhancement are endless.

You have to move with the times, I can see it now. Maybe a tasteful Red Bull logo on the gates at BuckPal too ?

    Afternoon all <ok>

I really hope that we get a good result tonight, otherwise more than half of the fan base will have to be put on suicide watch! <laugh>

It's not ideal that BMD hasn't been given the funds that he was promised, but a lot of things can cause that. It doesn't mean GFH are being tight with the cash or anything, maybe an investment deal fell through, or hasn't gone through as quickly as expected. Obviously Brian is annoyed because all of the expectation is placed on him, but so what if it takes him a season to get the team playing his way. As long as we play better football than we did under Warnock, and BMD starts to bring the right sort of players through, I truly believe that this situation will improve given the one thing no one in football ever gets. It's not all about money, it's TIME as well.

We suffered for 8 long years under Bates, it's not going to take 8 months to sort out the crap that he left us with. Yes financially, but also in terms of the signings that Grayson, and Warnock both made. Whether this was because they were inept in the market or they simply had to grab what was there is besides the point. The fact is we've been left with a lot of deadwood and you can't just make them disappear off the wage bill. I don't think Byram is the player being talked about with this 1 in 1 out. BMD could well be referring to needing to move on the likes of Pugh among others.

I know there is little faith in GFH in general on here, but come on guys they've been in charge for less than a year, and I'm sure there is a lot going on that we don't know about. They might not be super rich arabian investors who are going to plough million after million into the club, but if they fill Bates sinkholes and start the club going in the right direction, even if they then sell us on to the highest bidder, they've done us a massive favour.

No doubt that rant is going to be disagreed with by many, but that's just how I'm feeling this morning. Christ the season hasn't even started yet! <cheers>

    Afternoon all,

The thing that bothers me about GFH - and it's always bothered me - is their poor communications. For a supposedly professional outfit, they are appalling, and repeating basic mistakes. We're still waiting on the 'postponed' fans forum. Why? Haigh announced that he's have big news for us a few weeks back. Where is it? The Treasure Hunt? Jeez, it would make you weep.

On a lighter note, can I recommend a song of the day for Marko? "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life". <whistle>

Hello fellow Whites. Well, not great to hear the boss sounding downbeat, and then outing the news of players need to go before anyone comes in.

So here's a positive spin. What if McD is talking down our transfer market dealings as a smokescreen? For example, Bolton are desperate to get Mills off their books, but at £25k p/w that will not happen easily, and their chances of signing Dawson suffers because of it. Leeds the only club interested in taking Mills, be it on loan, but may have offered to only pay £15k p/w towards his wages. Bolton need to make a decision, and potentially McD could be publicly saying to Bolton that his offer is final due to no money being available. Ah, now how nice would it be McD was blowing smoke to get his man at his price?

Massively agree with this-expecting all of Bates handy work to be undone so fast is unrealistic.

GFH could be doing some things a bit differently, I will conceed to that, but we are moving closer to the club going in the right direction for the first time in nearly 10 years! Gotta be thankful for that
