The Daily Mail actually did something mildly interesting/entertaining: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...adge--Premier-League-clubs-crest-evolved.html
Aaaaand I spelt 'arguments' incorrectly. Mods - if you get time, can you correct it as it's bothering me.
You can do your own JK, click on edit, then go advanced and that allows you to edit the title as well! Done it for you this time!
good idea, its starting to sound a lot like the end of last season around here! Quick quiz for anyone (try to not look at the answers immediately!) 1. how many premierleague club crests have a lion on them? 2. how many have a bird? 3. how many have a castle? 4. how many have a football in the design? 5. which one crest has all four in it?
Granted I've already read the page, but I'll give it a go anyway without having a second look: 1- 2 2- 10 3- 2 (it can't just be us surely!) 4- 8 (a complete guess) 5- YELLOWS!
you got the important one right! 5 lions 8 birds 3 castles 6 balls And only we have them all on our crest! quick bonus question. Which two rival cities both have a ship on their crest?
Honestly never knew that Man U had a ship on thier badge so I've learned something today. I think our badge is pretty damn good and has a nice traditional feel to it. I don't like the fad for clubs changing their badges to make them more modish although I don't mind Arsenal's current one despite loathing it when they first brought it out.
Think it's something to do with the shipping canal. Does anyone think a lot of the modern badges are becoming more Americanised? They remind me of NFL badges.
Can't believe this came from the Daily Mail, it is quite interesting. Does it also have a list of the number of asylum seekers that each club has as well and what benefits they may have claimed?
Looking through that, the old Cardiff badge before the Red Dragons one was pretty horrendous. Also I've never liked Sunderlands current badge. I agree, ours is the most traditional and in some ways simple, I wouldn't change it.
I think it's the way they are trying to make two local landmarks seem like Ancient Greek landmarks by lining the sun behind them. Then they add some generic latin phrase above it. At least an oil tanker is a more realistic representation of Sunderland.
Well spotted I'm not too keen on the Swansea Badge it's not the worst, but it reminds me of the logo for one of those dodgy all you can eat Chinese buffet restaurants.
Ours is the oldest, designed in 1972 for a prize of 10 quid! Good article on it here http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/time_for_a_change_to_city_crest_1_642502
