All this tension and excitement as to whom we will buy and how good he'll be, or who we are going to sell reluctantly and then there is the big question of just how good our new signings are and will they fit in and can we avoid relegation or will Nicola make sure he achieves his ambitions has become too much. I can't take any more all I want to do is watch a cracking game of football, shout obscenities at the ref and annoy the blokes who sit behind me. If how I feel at this moment is anything like cold turkey I am really glad that I have never touched any drugs. From now until the beginning of the season I am staying in bed with the blanket over my head and every form of communication disconnected.
I get on great in the off season (apart from a burning desire for news). It's the season that kills me.
"I can't take any more all I want to do is watch a cracking game of football, shout obscenities at the ref and annoy the blokes who sit behind me." You are obviously not in the top tier then St Godders!!
Since May we haven't dropped any points from winning positions, committed any costly defensive errors, or wasted any scoring opportunities. We haven't been outplayed, nor have we played really well without reward. No one has been injured, no one has had a run of disappointing games, and the manager has not been sacked. All in all, I find the close season pretty relaxing.
