People say "fifteen hundred" instead of "one thousand five hundred" so why not? And I bet at the end of the last millenium you were saying "nineteen ninty-nine" rather than "one thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine" too :p

There are few things in life that annoy me to the point of hate but the word "chillax" is one of them. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it <grr>

I suspect the majority aren't very poor or have made lifestyle choices, but of course the homeless and very poor deserve help.

I also hate people who use superlatives too often and inappropriately. They are too easily pleased. I wonder what words they would use if something "absolutely fantastic" did happen to them. They have devalued superlatives.

    * People who say "3am in the morning" - is there a 3am in the afternoon I was not aware of?
    * Windows 8 treating a pair of headphones like they're software, so you have to wait for the computer to scan and recognise them before going into Youtube
    * The choice of football strips in shops. I was in the shop on Oxford Street earlier, and the choice of strips were: Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Ajax, Porto, Werder Bremen, Galatasaray, LA Galaxy. When the strip for an MLS team is readily available, yet 85% of the Premier League is not, something is seriously wrong.
    * The NHS's default positions of "Go home and take some paracetamol." I've needed antibiotics since the end of May!!!

Are there two 3am's? Yes of course there are.

3am in the morning arrives when you have been up all night.

3am at night is when you have to get up at daft o'clock for something or other.

May? That's not too bad, I've been trying to get something fixed for 3 years. If I'm told to take ibuprofen (I'm asthmatic so shouldn't take that anyway) and wait 2 weeks one more time you may end up seeing a massacre at a GP surgery on the news

I can think of a few others, but I suppose that No.1 on my list is politicians. I despise them, of whatever persuasion. The world would instantly be a far, far better place if they were all rounded up and exterminated tomorrow.

I'm not 1/1000th as bothered by people scamming welfare for the poor as by our welfare for the rich. Like the way Wall Street makes wild bets because it is able to take any profits from winning bets (while claiming they've earned it !) while socializing losses through bailouts.

People scamming welfare for the poor cost a million times less money, for one thing.

What's this based on? I suggest you volunteer at one of these places if those are your suspicions.

Similar to what RWAEB said, I don't like the thought of the rich and powerful getting away with dodging taxes, getting bailed out when they get too greedy amongst other things. The idea that someone getting some free cans of food when they could probably afford it doesn't concern me much.

Don't have a problem with Cyclists, Federer or New Years Day but the rest of your picks are worthy of hate.

I've said the same thing and it's why, IMO, we have the number of Liverpool/United gloryhunters we do in this country.

The last time I went to Shepherds Bush Westfield, which is not even a mile from Loftus Road, I could not find one shop that sold QPR shirts. First in the queue was Man Utd, then Chelsea/Arsenal/Liverpool. Similarly, I lived in North Birmingham for 3 years and there was not a single place you could buy Birmingham or WBA merchandise and the Man Utd/Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool sections were bigger than Villa, the local team.

How is that justifiable? What chance have the next generation got when Man Utd merchandise is more readily available than that of the local teams?

    I still hate:

-Katie Price (most important waste of space)
-ITV programmes, especially on Saturday night (did they really make "The Sweeney"?)
-people singing along to Robbie Williams (ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....)
-other people's barbeques (do I want my house smelling of kippers for three days? No)
    -nurses (angels, my arse)
-Cameron's incessant bandwagon jumping re British sport (t*at)
-drugs cheats devaluing the Tour de France (I hope Froome is clean)
-hot cross bun flavour crisps (WTF?)
-Chelsea and City fans giving it large (get a grip)
-the price of Skylanders (plastic ****e)
-communal grieving (who's it really about?)
    -Chinese lanterns (pointless, dangerous idiocy)

Don't get your point. Titanic sank in "nineteen twelve", Battle of Waterloo was "eighteen fifteen", surely saying "twenty thirteen" is following the precedent.

If anything the "two thousand and one" decade was the anomaly, given it was "nineteen o' one" a hundred years before. I think "twenty o' one" just sounded a bit weird.

Selfishness, ignorance, materialism, cult of celebrity, motorists who don't indicate, Eastenders, Ricky Gervais, excessive smokers, the price of meat, rules which hinder harmless fun, health problems, people who talk about themselves, Boris bikes, the NRA, the EDL, the BNP, all fundamental extremists (including militant atheists), fussy eaters, cold calls, Brits abroad, Monday mornings :(
