Sorry, I couldn't find any decent footage of Bardsley. Have a pointless montage of pictures instead.

    Easy for me

Zenden should have played much more for us. Shame we had such a stupid manager at the time

Bardo is a whole hearted clogger who was sufficiently stupid to spot a new manager wanting to stamp his authority by making an example of someone

How a bit part player has many votes more than a player who has been FANS player of the season is beyond me.

Bolo was a better player, course he was, but did he give more, or do more, for the club than Bardo.

    Not a chance in hell.

Before anyone yaks on that Bardo is limited, absolutely he is, but he did score several goals in the last 2 seasons that were massive in keeping us in the league, as well as that player of the season award.

except he's only scored 3 goals in the last 2 seasons - one in the fa cup against everton, one in a 2-1 defeat at fulham, and a 1-1 draw with southampton (hardly massive imo) compared to bolo who scored 4 goals also in 2 years (hardly massive either) 3 of them in wins vs spurs, bolton and west ham and was instrumental in our 3-0 win at chelsea.

supporters are probably more inclined to vote for a player who didn't get a fair crack of the whip yet impressed nonetheless as opposed to a player who was once idolised and has since thrown that adoration back in the face of the club and supporters. The worst bolo ever did to us was to not sign an extension.

If we're being pedantic, 3 counts as several (any number more than 2), and the point v Saints was the point that kept us up.

Pretty important I'd say mate, that 'hardly massive' goal is blocked and we are in the Championship.

Thing is with bardo fella, is you either like him or you don't, he's very much a player that has always split fan opinions. If you're not a fan of him you aren't going to vote for him. I think Zenden's votes is more about bardsley then Zenden. It's another fine example of what a torrid 10 years we've just had when these two make the quarterfinal imo.

Totally agree with that mate, but I've deliberately not voted for my 'favourite' players and went for the ones that have contributed most.

If it's favourite players, it's flawed, and pointless.

It would be an Arca v Sess final, which can't happen due to the set up.

Very true, and me too. I voted Zenden because I believe Bardo to be a fraud. He only made effort in contract seasons and sure enough, before he knew he was defo out the door he was pulling the same **** saying he was going to work hard and win a new contract this season, between his player of the year seasons he hasn't looked fit to wear the shirt, if he'd put anywhere near the same effort as he put in in them two seasons there'd be no contest here, bardo would take it easy. I also believe that Zenden was not played anywhere near enough, I really rated him as was left constantly frustrated with him being overlooked.

We've only had 11 votes so plenty of time for the Bardo fans to log on and vote. I expect it to finnish closer than it is now.

Agree with all of that, sadly some folk are going through by default.

No other way of doing it in this format I guess, a plain simple list of players, with a vote, and a mandatory explanation of vote, would probably have been more accurate.

Still been a decent thing mind, don't get me wrong.

If i could have been bothered I could have set it much better, set the positions off against each other then the winners of each position off against each other in a grand final of 4 players. But it was easy to rip off so my bad. But if the people who were telling me it was **** had set something up themselves I would have happily have stepped aside so i think i'm off the hook

If I'd known how active the window was going to be I wouldn't have bothered at all. It was only in mind of a boring summer and it's been quite the opposite. Ha ha!

How can it not be Zenden?

Paulo's Pecs has interpreted the title in a very peculiar way, but then again "best Sunderland player" is intrinsically subjective as a framework. The better player was Zenden and the better performances belong to Zenden as well.

And so, when we voted Bardo fans player of the year whilst Bolo was at the club?

Mackems can make a mistake. I saw one of them swinging their child by the head not 15 minutes ago <ok>

He may very well have had a decent season once, when the rest of the team relied on players like Bolo to do everything, and looking like a defensive hero was f***ing easy.

Bolo was a very talented lad, and criminally underused, but it says 'Sunderland best player of the last 10 years'.

He simply didn't play or influence enough to be a realistic option.

If it was greatest dancer mind, he'd smash it.
