He clearly hasn't been to a game where Aluko has played then. Which, with Leeds' awful attendance throughout last Season isn't surprising since as in all their plastic glory fans have disappeared now that Leeds are some mediocre, mid-table Championship side. He tore Leeds apart at both Bellend Road and the KC. His delusion is getting in the way of his logical thinking again. Poor Leeds fan.
Injury aside (Aluko was out until the end of the season from January onwards), Aluko was deployed out wide, up front and in behind the strikers last year, much like McCormack was. McCormack is a decent player, don't get me wrong, but right up until his injury, Aluko was easily one of the best performers in the Championship. As OLM said, I think a few PL teams are going to be very surprised at just how impressive he is. Hence my worry that he has yet to be offered/sign a new deal.
Didn't Aluko win Player Of The Month at one point? Josh, you really should know what Aluko is like - he tore Leeds to shreds at both Elland Rd and the KC. He played like that nearly every game.
Aluko's 24 and only played until late November. He got 8 goals by November and then sustained an injury that meant he had to miss the rest of the Season. There's a reason players and managers were rating him up there with Zaha and Ince. If we're in the bottom 3 by January, there's going to be a few Premier League Clubs looking at him. He'll be a surprise next Season, hopefully our Michu. We were on fire at the beginning of the Season, playing some of the best football that I've ever seen Hull City play. This attacking momentum was spearheaded by Aluko who would go deep into our own half, retrieve the ball and push it forward with some brilliant link up play, skills and passes. Once he was injured, we struggled for attacking flair, coincidence? I don't think so. I seem to remember Aluko completely tearing Leeds apart at the KC when you gave you a 90 minute lesson in football and only scored 2 to show for it. Leeds mere 2 shots (one blazed over and one blocked) compared to endless pressure given by our lads thanks to Aluko and Elmohamady. There's a reason Leeds struggled all Season and if McCormack was better than Aluko, you would have finished higher in the League, but you didn't therefore he isn't that good.
I remember on about 70 minutes I think it was Elmo & Aluko just doing like keepy-upys between them next to the corner flag taking the piss. We could've had 5/6 that day had we not started showboating, oh well, it was a good laugh.
McCormack is only 2 years older than Aluko, its been known for players to peak at the age of 24 by the way. There is no doubt that Hull were better than us last season and in truth have been for the last few years, but thats why I think McCormack is so underrated in the championship, he consistently scores goals when played as a striker and consitently puts goals on a plate for strikers when played on the wing (thats why Becchio scored so many for us imo). In fact I think in our first 5 games of the season Ross had set up every goal we scored and was playing probably the best I have seen him play. After than he was tearing Cardiff apart so they decided just to injure him and he was out for a couple of months which was when we started to struggle. He always gets overlooked which is irritating but I think its because he isn't as fast as the likes of Aluko, Ince, Zaha (which in fairness he doesn't compare to Ince and Zaha and especially their potential). Despite this one sided rivalry our teams have (and also this somewhat petty argument ) I wouldn't mind Hull staying up. I think they play decent enough football and are strong defensively. I worry that your goalkeeping options aren't the best and its relying heavily on McGregor being half decent because I'm not a big fan of Harper personally (woulda tried to sign Schwarzer if I was bruce)
Well you have tried to convince me using stats and that didn't work (Ross' stats are better which I'm sure you didn't expect). You have no grounds to be so cocky about this. I can understand if its just your opinion but you haven't presented any actual evidence as to why he is better
I don't think I personally used any stats, I just based it on the fact that it is pretty clear who is better based on performances. You are the one trying to convince with stats. And it clearly isn't working. Evan McCormack himself said that Aluko was the best player in the league ffs. Just accept it, we'll never agree.
I will accept that we won't agree but I used you as a generalisation of Hull fans and you guys did use stats first. Also Ross isn't going to openly state how good he thinks he is, only bigheaded dickhead footballers do that
No, but he stated Aluko was the best in the league, so the only way he could think of himself as better is if he thought he was the best player in the league but too modest to say so, but surely he's not that thick? Even you don't think he's the best player in the league do you?
I think your going to go down worse than Derby did last time they were in the Prem and thank **** you've only been promoted a couple of months and you already think your Barcelona...i'm surprised your not looking down your noses at the likes of Everton and Spurs the way your lot are talking. Aluko maybe at a 'Premiership' club but he hasn't played one match of Premier League football yet so we'll see. Quite frankly i'd rather have Ross over Aluko (rather have both but in the mean time) as he can be both prolific and creative as proven by the last two seasons.
I went to that game and we made you look alot better than you was. If I remember correctly it was during that awful run around Christmas/New Year time? Where we also got ripped apart by the likes of Forest ect. I think if you had played a half decent team or even a League One team with a bit of fire in their bellies you'd been lucky to win.
Don't be bitter and jealous. Just think next season Yorkshire will be represented in the Premiership again by Yorkshire's finest. Also if we do go down worse than Derby it will show just how poor Leeds are for never looking like getting promotion at all.
Leeds will play at the red bull stadium in the championship with a ****e league 1 forward **** em na nanananaan living in the pastttt
Sorry, but where have you pulled that little gem from? Given our background, not one of us think we're better than we are and you'll forgive some of our younger fans for having a little optimism. I don't think I've seen a single poster who thinks we're better than the likes of Spurs and Everton. Your comment about us doing worse than Derby isn't a new one, they predicted that in our first PL season and look what happened there. The fact that you continue to choke and be nothing more than an average Championship side probably has nothing to do with your little prediction. We've been better than you for some time and yet you still assume your history, something that's been and gone, still makes you a footballing force? We were, up until the first half of the 2000's, traditionally a lower league club akin to Rochdale, never really getting out of Division 3 or 4. And now we're better than you; the two games last season pretty much confirmed that, but the writing has been on the wall for some time. And you're right, McCormack is a good player, I don't think anybody is denying that. But you go ahead and ask the supporters of teams Sone Aluko faced last season who they'd rather have in their squad and you'll get told the Hotshot from Hounslow everytime.
